X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

Wait, wait, wait. The heck with Banshee :) The trailer with Thor is different than the 2:45 supposedly last trailer? Details, please!

::insert nonsensical irate fanboy rage that Marvel/Fox/Singer/JJ Abrams/Obama/whoever else doesn't care about its movies::

I could have accused you of 'not getting' respect for other people's cultures or languages, but I've attempted to conduct the debate civilly instead of simply throwing out insults and accusations.

You could and you'd be proven wrong every time.

Proven? Where's the proof? You've simply stated your views and singularly and repetitively repeatd them without ever addressing the questions I've raised. Incidentally, I love how I'm being lectured on issues of language by someone who doesn't even know the difference between 'to' and 'too.' Please elaborate on this 'proof', because I've yet to see it.

The fact that I've already stated in this thread that I feel it's wrong to remove characters accents due tio the fact that it robs the film of the X-Men theme of diversity, confirms that I have a very good grasp of cultures and languages. I am also founding member of a Diversity Committee that offers monthly social & economic aid to ALL in my county no matter what race, creed or culture. Due to it, it's part of my job to know and understand other cultures. I live in one of the most densely populated/muliti-cultural places in the world.

Again, since this conversation arises from the subject of language, may I just point out that you should be saying "characters' accents." And the word you're looking for in the next sentence is 'to' not 'tio', which is a latin word for 'your.'

And frankly, I fail to see how this 'confirms' anything, beyond you having a view on the accents of certain comic book characters. You certainly seem to have little or no respect on the Irish language, on the basis of your posts so far. Of course, on the basis of your mangling of the English language, I guess Irish shouldn't feel too offended.

As to your little group, woop-de-doo for you. I'm so impressed. Incidentally, can you say how many Gailegeors are on it?

^ By exodus' logic, Lady Deathstrike ought to be male.
I'm not the one that can't see past gender and accept a man having the codename Banshee, like millions have for years.
I swear, such trivial things.

I think it's pretty safe to say that most of those millions are, by and large, aware that the word 'Lady' applies to females. They are less likely to be aware that the word 'Banshee' is generally used, in its native tongue, in relation exclusively to women. It's not a question of seeing past gender, it's a question of understanding a word's true meaning.

So, let me put it like this, since you failed to answer the question the first time. Would you accept the codename 'Lady Deathstrike' being used in relation to a male character? Yes or no?

Incidentally, I love how you turn around and casually accuse someone you don't know of having no respect for diversity and of being trivial, while constantly trying to take the moral high ground and ignoring your own blindspot about other peoples' cultures. I'm reminded of the time you basically accused me of being racist because I had the temerity to suggest that Halle Berry wasn't a box-office draw before X-Men 1.

Perhaps you ought to take the mote out of your own eye before you start throwing accusations around at other people.[/QUOTE]

Forgive me.

Allow me to say what I should have said the first time: who cares?
