X-Men: Apocalypse announced for May 2016

That's one of the five I'm counting: X-Men, X2, First Class, Days of Future Past, and Apocalypse.

Although it looks as if he was an uncredited producer on Origins: Wolverine -- is that the sixth one you're thinking of?
No, I thought you were counting the upcoming Wolverine movie due to his return to a general overseeing-of-the-franchise role. Never mind. :)

IGN has a whole bunch of new set pics up from the X-Men News twitter, including our first look at Jubilee. I like the look for Jubilee.
I think we can safely say they're no longer afraid to bring the comic looks into the movies pretty much unchanged. We've come a long way from the black leather uniforms and jokes about yellow spandex.

Except that Jubilee's outfit in the comics is basically just civilian clothes anyway. And they've replaced her ultra-'80s visor-type sunglasses (or whatever you call those) with more ordinary pink-framed sunglasses, even though the movie's set in the '80s.

As I said, I was limiting myself to the movies that have been released or entered production to date. Wolverine 3 and Gambit are still in pre-production. And IMDb doesn't indicate that he's involved with either film.

I'm glad to see we'll finally be getting a bald young Xavier. I wonder if there will be a specific event that causes his hair loss, or if it'll just have happened naturally?

As long as they have Cypher ;)

Bryan Singer just posted a picture that answers a question we have all been wondering.......

James McAvoy getting his head shaved! https://instagram.com/p/2cNOOLxDxE/

Well they probably had to do it seeing as in-universe 21 years have passed since First Class, while only 5 have passed in real life, meaning assuming they started the same age Xavier is now 16 years older than the actor playing him.

I'm glad to see we'll finally be getting a bald young Xavier.

Is it fair to consider him young Xavier when he's got to be pushing at least 40 in 1983?

I guess I should have said McAvoy Xavier, since you're right and he's not really "young" anymore. He is still younger than Patrick Stewart's Xavier, though.

My guess is he is bald for most, if not all of the movie. Most actors hate shaving their heads for roles. It takes a long time for hair to grow back. I doubt he would do this for a small amount of screen time. Plus its early in production.

I agree on the age issue. In DOFP they made little effort to show how much the characters had aged. But now they are 30 years older than when we first saw them. I think they have to show it more visually.

They won't be 30 years older. First Class took place in '62. DOFP in '73. Apocalypse in '83. So only 21 years will have passed since First Class. I don't think they need to be too concerned with showing the characters aging.
