X-Files Revival Officially Ordered at Fox

The promo was talking about 1 episode every day until it airs. Did they mean that somebody is showing the episodes? I haven't seem them anywhere on TV Guide.

Nope. It means fans watch an episode a day via Hulu, Netflix, via dvd's and that kind of thing.

Damn, I feel like a teenager in the 90s again, which means... awesome!

Yep! So do I . Just hoping things will turn out well. My emotions as of late have been feeling like they did back then :p. Like a roller coaster. Doesn't help that I help to moderate an XF board. And that involves seeing spoilers.

Oh the fun there. Not going to say anything here though. For anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled.

There is going to be some more new footage coming out tonight! During Wayward Pines.

Here's the link to more info.

Any guesses on new footage?

Gillian's aged better than David.
She's had some work done.

But why is Mulder still calling her "Scully" in the released clip - her last name? You'd think they'd be on a first name basis by now and after having a child together...

Additionally, you may have heard The Lone Gunman will make an appearance in the series and folks are wondering how they'll explain that one, since they all "died" at the end of their series. So maybe as ghosts, or maybe their deaths were faked, blah, blah, in-universe explanation, blah, blah...

I have no problem just totally ignoring their supposed deaths in The Lone Gunman series. As in, it never happened. Just like Newt, Hicks and Bishop and Alien 3 never happened.

With things like this, you just film a director’s 10-second statement at the beginning of the film saying, “A lot of fans were disappointed when we snuffed your favorite X-Files supporting characters in our Lone Gunmen series. Yeah, we made a mistake. Sorry. As we move forward, it never happened. We hope you enjoy our show.” Don’t even try to do a "Dallas" on it (where the whole thing was a dream).

No one calls her by her first name but her family, she doesn't like to be called Dana.

The Lone Gunmen did fake their deaths and iirc, their new hideout is underground accessible through a grave, either one of their own or another name.

It didn't happen on their own show, It was the 2nd to last episode of X-Files.

I'm sure Fox has called her "Dana" on the show at times. And if she's had a child with Fox, that's family enough, especially after how many years? It's weird.

This sounds like it came from a source other than either series, such as a comic book or something. They don't count (in my world).

Thanks for the correction!

Well, your world-your rules, but the "Season 10" comics have the direct involvement of Chris Carter (listed as "Executive Producer"), and, like the "Buffy/Angel" and "Star Wars" comics, they are considered canonical to the mythos.

Well they *might* have been before this was green-lit but I would think it is all in the air.

The comics have been going for a while now, so I doubt they knew the series was going to come back when they started.

The same reason she still calls him "Mulder." If you've been calling somebody a certain name for years and years, it would be awkward to start calling them something else.

FYI: There's also a new series of X-FILES short-story collections, edited by Jonathan Maberry. The first volume just came this week and the second is scheduled for February.

And I just got word that I'm going to have a story in Vol. 2. Yippee!
