X-Files Revival Officially Ordered at Fox

Thanks for the link to that clip, Random Spock. That was cool.

When they first announced the new timeslot, I was a bit disappointed that it wouldn't be returning to Sundays at 9, just for nostagia's sake. But after giving it some thought, I'm actually quite glad that they decided to avoid the old scheduling. Sundays at 9 is a pretty busy time for my DVR already (Good Wife, HBO shows) but Mondays at 8 won't hold any conflicts for me.

I'm just so excited for it to be back.

You're welcome!

I'm glad as well. This is a fresh start for it. Hopefully Chris won't mess things up.

Also, last night, this cracked me up . Him and Gillian singing and stuff.

Too damn cute :p. Glad that they're friends and that they get along as well as they do. Tbh it only adds to the chemistry imo. But I swear, the media overreacts to it :guffaw:.

I saw a news article linked today that said David Duchovny has read one or more of the scripts (I didn't delve into the article at all) and said he cried.

My favorite response I saw at another forum:

Taht bad, huh?

He said what he was actually emotional about was getting to read another X-Files script after so long, and not because of what was actually in the script.

Shhh.... we can't let facts get in the way of internet trolls.

 Yep.

Heard that the Dallas comic con went good. So I'm looking forward to the new episodes :). Wish I could have been there though, damn it. Those silly cons are usually way out of the way.

I saw a story where DAvid spoke more. Apparently the limited number isn't because they didn't want to do more (just not enitire new seasons), but because of how hard it was to get workable schedules they get he, Anderson, and Chris Carter at the same times.

Exactly. They are all very busy people. He has a few different projects, Anderson is on two different shows other than X-Files (Hannibal season 3 starts tonight!) so it's hard to make more episodes.

Part of me is like "Yay maybe more episodes" but another part of me would really just like to see some closure for the series.

Does this mean that we probably won't see Doggett or Reyes in the new season?

They'll be lucky if they get a line of dialogue acknowledging their existence.

As I recall, they weren't mentioned at all in the most recent X-FILE movie.

Meanwhile, rumor has it that they're doing a sequel to "Home," which fills my depraved, black heart with glee.

That was always my favorite episode . . ..

Six episodes this year that do well might mean 13 more next summer. Maybe a TV movie every year until they die. I'll take anything

That's unfortunate. Yeah Seasons 8 and 9 weren't the best, but I don't blame Gish or Patrick for that. It's hard to come in and replace Mulder and Scully, and Gish and Patrick did the best they could.

Exactly. I didn't mind them. It's not their fault if they got stuck with some bad writing at times.

Reyes is still in the air, Doggett isn't coming back as far as we know. Robert Patrick has gone on the record recently about it.

OMG... tomorrow's the day!! :) I'm SO excited!!!
