gangrel could'nt get sighned to impact wrestling that's how bad he is. so I hope christian will induct edge into the HOF.

Yeah, with the MITB ladder match thrown out, that leaves the current Wrestlemania card as the following...

The Rock vs. John Cena

World Heavyweight Championship: Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan (c)

Hell In A Cell: The Undertaker vs. Triple H (Shawn Michaels as Special Guest Referee)

WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho

Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show

Team Raw (Johnny Ace) vs. Team Smackdown (Teddy Long)

Kane vs. Randy Orton

The main event looks good, but the undercard is dire with little or no builds to most of the matches. I remember when the WHOLE Wrestlemania card was all about having big feud ending matches and big name confrontations that were enough to shift six figure buyrates alone.

Yeah, we got 4 main event matches there and what, 2 mid-card matches?

It's like the Seven-of-Nine of Wrestling cards.

Vince is going all out to draw attention this year. There is still only one match on there that I remotely care about...that'll change if Beth and Trish are booked :)

Oh and one last thing I wanted to bring up...is anyone else becoming sick and tired of seeing what is trending on Raw and Smackdown? I get that WWE is wanting to promote social media...but I really do not care who is trending or what people are talking about right that second!!!

I thought my "Seven-of-Nine of Wrestling Cards" live was better considering the audience, but I'll take what I can get.

Yeah, its every teenage boy's fantasy to work the indie circut and direct porn... Okay, maybe not.

That's my retirement plan, sadly.

Can't do the writing/acting shit forever, you know.

And I dug the "Seven-of-Nine" comment. Promise.

I'm ashamed to say it, but I didn't get the context of the Seven of Nine comment (normally I do), perhaps someone would explain?

Shame about Jerry Lynn, the guy has worked his ass off for years and has never been given the kind of push his effort warrants. He did hold the ECW Championship briefly near the end of the promotion and he has held the ROH Championship, so technically he has been a "world champion".

I would say that his tenure in WWE was the worst of his career, given that he spent most of it on the B-shows and was passed up during the Invasion angle when he was just as capable as performing to the standard of RVD, etc. He never really got off the ground there and apart from a brief Light Heavyweight Championship reign, nothing eventful came his way.

I honestly can't reason why people have been praising Randy Orton as the "best wrestler" of the past year. To me, he wrestles a style that is "mercifully brief" in that he quickly gets down to business and doesn't screw around with restholds and ring-out selling that bores me to tears. He used to do that, in fact he was notorious at one point for slapping on rear-chinlocks (which Vince won't allow face wrestlers to utilise) that would last for an eternity. Despite not messing around and working well with many different wrestlers, there isn't a lot else to Orton. There could be, but he's been sculpted into a "WWE guy" where emphasis is taken away from quality wrestling in order to focus on the five moves of doom and signatures. Even CM Punk has started to go this way, although we should all be thankful that WWE allows him to continue utilising Muay Thai and MMA influenced attacks and holds as part of his repotoire.

Randy Orton keeps getting praised despite using the same gimmick he has had for the past several years and the same attitude (despite being a face now...interesting they can't turn Cena heel but Orton goes flip floppy all the time lol) because he is somewhat stable and they know they can count on Orton to draw. He is over with the fans no matter what they do with him, and he draws as a champion. Simple as that.

Also Christian is supposed to return for a Peep Show segment on Smackdown this week.

Actually (I did watch a couple of segments last night) I thought the Rock Concert was rather lame and just more of Rock trash talking and burying Cena. The biggest thing that bugs me about this whole thing, is that there has been no attempt on either men's part of putting the other over at all. Rock has been almost pseudo-heel in his promos, totally ripping apart Cena. They've been almost a caricature of Rock's usual promos. It is pretty clear to me, that there is at least some real life heat between the two.

At least with Rock/Hogan there was a natural give and take between the two...and Hogan put Rock over. This thing is all over the place, and with no clear indication of who will win this match. I think the majority of fans are thinking Rock will win and Cena will go full heel, finally, but I for one, don' think that could be the case.

I think its in managment's best interest to have Cena go over. Do I want Cena to go over? No. But, when you set aside everything, the promos, the heat, the rapping, the history tours, fruty pebbles, whatever Rock is calling his penis this week, Cena's lady parts, the royalties being payed out to Brian May...

What this angle is about is:

Rock passing the torch to Cena.

Just as their match at WM18 was about Hogan passing his torch to The Rock. Cena is correct in pointing out that win or lose, after that match Rock will go back to hollywood and make another round of movies that I'll never spend money on. Don't get me wrong, I love the Rock, I will be cheering for him during 'Mania, but management has to protect their biggest draw.

And like it or not, that's not Rock anymore. That's Cena.

poor old miz still can't catch a break with WM 28 this is just getting sad.
and I so like clay right now that was fantastic how he put down jendar.

Some of the dirt sheets are reporting that the format of Wrestlemania 28 will be set as Punk/Jericho opening, Taker/Triple H in the middle and naturally, Rock/Cena in the main event. This seems pretty fair to me, given that every match at Wrestlemania means more than any main events matches at non-big four PPV's. Obviously, the thinking about this setup is to allow the most time for each of these matches. If I was to take a guess, I'd say we are looking at 20 minutes at least for each of these matches and it might be safe to predict up to 30 minutes for Taker/Triple H and Cena/Rock.

I've been thinking that maybe the sequel to this thread should be titled to welcome professional wrestling in all forms and not just WWE and TNA. Obviously these are the two most popular promotions, but there are many other great promotions out there that include many different styles of wrestling. You have:

Sports Entertainment: WWE, TNA
Traditional Style Pro Wrestling: NWA, WWC
Puroresu: NJPW, AJPW, NOAH
Lucha Libre: CMLL, AAA
Fusion Wrestling: ROH, Dragon Gate
Hardcore Wrestling: CZW, Big Japan Pro Wrestling

I was going to start a Professional Wrestling Discussion thread after 28...perhaps we'll actually have some interesting things to talk about come April. Really though, we only talk about TNA and WWE...and really recently it's been all WWE talk. I've been slipping on the Botchamania posts!!! JEEEEESSSSUS!!! *Pulls Lever*

Well...looks like no Beth Vs Trish...instead we get a Divas Tag Team match and another celeb is involved this time...Maria Menounous!!! Maria of course guest hosted Raw with Nancy O'Dell I believe a couple of years ago and is a huge WWE fan...and I believe is on record as saying she would come back and do more stuff if they ever asked...I guess Vince did...it will be Kelly Kelly and Maria Vs Eve and Beth.

Cornette face!!! Sigh.

I wouldn't sleep on the Divas tag match. Maria's proven she can go at it in the ring, and she's very familiar with all three of the Divas she'll be working with. Last time she made an appearance with the WWE was at Tribute to the Troops, where she teamed with Kelly Kelly and Eve (as well as Alicia Fox) against Beth, Natalyia, and the Belkas. She also worked with Kelly, Alicia, and Beth in 2009 on RAW. I expect that this match will go at least as long as the match at Tribute to the Troops, and while I do think they ought to be putting more emphasis on the Divas than they currently are overall, thus match should be fairly entertaining regardless of its length.
