wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

A lack of genuine heels getting pushed is part of WWE's problem IMO. They had Mark Henry as the monster heel champion which I was starting to actually like, then he got injured and had to drop the title. Really though since he barely missed any time at all I question that decision. I'm assuming Vince made the decision because he didn't want a perception from the audience that his monster heel champion had any weakness. Del Rio was over as a heel, but not drawing as a champion. Miz was a great heel champion IMO and could have had a few more months with the title, but they had to book Mike with Super Cena lol.

Miz was a great heel champion IMO

To an extent, but he didn't connect with the majority of the audience and that meant he didn't draw to the expected levels and his reign was cut short. His first few weeks with the belt were great, but he quickly lost momentum and began to bore rather than attract positive heat.

and could have had a few more months with the title
Agreed, mainly because I think that the feud with Alex Riley could have been much better had the WWE Championship been involved. They could really have built Riley up by having him come so close to winning the championship on multiple occasions, whilst keeping Miz on top as a heel by having him "just" manage to retain each time.

Once this was over they could have put the belt on Cena and both Miz and Riley would be incredibly over and probably still in the main event.

but they had to book Mike with Super Cena lol.
This was all down to The Rock agreeing to return and the creative office leaping at the chance to run a huge program between him and John Cena. They had to do something big that would involve the tension between Rock and Cena finally coming to a head - this also had to draw lots of money too, so what better event to execute it than at Wrestlemania?

Often, the final step towards a full blown feud occurs because one participant in the feud costs the other a very big match/title and in this case it was the WWE Championship main event match at Wrestlemania. It just happened that Miz was the guy that was going to benefit from Rock costing Cena his match. I absolutely agree that Rock/Cena overshadowed Miz's title reign and the drawing power of John Cena was a big factor in Miz having a short title reign when his own drawing power dipped.

The reason Miz was given the title run in the first place was because he worked his ass off to a point that the WWE decision makers couldn't ignore and also one where he was recieving big reactions from the audience. The likes of CM Punk, Christian, Chris Jericho and even Triple H (before he was a McMahon) have done the same to get to the top of the business. Obviously WWE creative doesn't get this impression from Miz anymore...

^ Or he did something that resulted in his current punishment (other than "failing to draw as champion) which seems to continue. Has he won a match since dropping the title last year? He has sort of reminded me of Sheamus before the face turn. Mike must've done something bad or that creative had a problem with to deserve this kind of treatment. He can't prove himself again, if he's given nothing to do.

Extreme Rules poster has been revealed with Kane splashed on it.

Well reports suggest that Mike Mizanin's de-push and losing streak has to do with his general backstage attitude and the ego that his co-workers believe he has developed. The world of pro-wrestling is a strange one that works more like a fraternity (not just the US college one's, I'm talking about Masons too) than a business. An individual who is having a bad day could make one mistake that could rub someone higher on the food chain the wrong way and this could lead to them becoming a career mid-carder.

Many members of the current and recent WWE roster have said or done negligible things that have cost them career advancement...

Kofi Kingston: Made a mistake in a match that pissed Randy Orton off, his foray into the main event was swiftly called off.

Jack Swagger: His ego following his rapid rise to the top in 2009/2010 lead to almost a year of jobbing and little or no storyline inclusion.

John Morrison: His relationship with Melina Perez and his attitude cost him dearly and his contract was not renewed when it came up this year.

MVP: His ego lead to a prolonged period of being jobbed out to everyone, he did recover to an extent, but decided he would find success elsewhere (and he did in Japan, where he is regarded as one of the top foreign workers).

Sheamus: Not entirely sure what happened that warranted a period of jobbing out for the 2012 Royal Rumble winner in late 2010/early 2011, but it's probably ego related too.

William Regal: A Wellness Policy violation lead to him losing the biggest push of his career (it's possible that Regal would have eventually captured the WHC or WWE title) in Spring 2008, hasn't regained that kind of momentum and is now semi-retired and working more as a colour commentator.

It's really complicated, but something as simple as not shaking somebody's hand can destroy a wrestlers push. I seem to recall reading somewhere that Paul London didn't shake a veterans hand (not maliciously, he just forgot to introduce himself) and was called up to the WWE "Wrestlers Court", he refused to attend the "hearing" and was ultimately punished by being left on shows like Velocity until they paired him up with Brian Kendrick (London's attitude still eventually played into him being released in 2008).

I don't think it's complicated at all...just outdated and stupid means of punishing the talent and it robs us fans of entertainment. Fine the guys or something. Again, I point out the biggest example of this punishment policy is Triple H from the MSG/Klique incident. Hunter was on his way with a big heel push, then after that was forced into the most horrid and bad angles and matches for quite away, until essentially the start of Degeneration X.

Sheamus: Not entirely sure what happened that warranted a period of jobbing out for the 2012 Royal Rumble winner in late 2010/early 2011, but it's probably ego related too.

Head RAW writer Kevin Dunn has a personal dislike of Sheamus (I don't know why, but he does). That is the ONLY reason he (Sheamus) was 'de-pushed'.

Looks like Mark Henry's not happy at Vince's treatment during his recent injury and subsequent de-push:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...uperstar-might-be-leaving-the-company-in-2012

Leave it to Vince to not let a guy heal fully when a big chunk of the roster is injured and a different chunk seemingly has nothing to do. Henry's a company guy who's been given some shitty angles (e.g., Mae Young's "hand" birth) but had a good run in 2011 so you'd think the WWE would be a little more grateful and accommodating.

^ The only thing stopping me from giving that report complete credence is that it conflicts with previously reported information concerning Henry continuing to be utilized following his injury (said information indicated that the WWE had been willing to give Henry time off, but that he had told them that he was capable of 'working through the pain').

Probably going to order Wrestlemania this year. I don't have cable these days. I'd like to purchase it on my computer and hook it up via HDMI to my TV so we can all watch in the living room. Does anyone have any experience with the official WWE.com PPV streams? Good quality, reliable connection?

I'm not ordering 28...I convinced my friend to do so and to host a party. I decided that I will probably watch it but most likely try to entertain ourselves :) I'd also tell him I'd make pulled pork sandwiches for everyone :)

Like all paid webcasts you are guaranteed - should there be any problems at their end. If you have a good reliable connection I'd go for it.

The price of WWE PPV's are ridiculously expensive and the quality rarely lives up to the price. I feel sorry for anybody who ordered Wrestlemania XVII last year, it was no where near becoming of a Wrestlemania and featured a hell of a lot of match trimming (the two six person tag matches especially, that clocked in at around five minutes each).

I suppose the best atmosphere you can get for the least amount of money would be if you found a sports bar that is showing the PPV.

^ No way. That's the worst type of atmosphere for any sporting event, especially if you want to actually enjoy what you came to watch. The best is going to a friends' place :)

Sheamus didn't really job though. He kept squashing, just without getting anywhere. I don't particularly like Sheamus. He's not that great a wrestler and all his "Yer a horse's arse!" facery is pathetic. He made a good heel though.

Henry's de-push is tragic. He was brilliant as champion; it's a shame they pissed it away on continuous matches with the Fat Show. Now he loses to BS on Smackdown and gets pinned in a tag match within 4 minutes after a brogue kick.

Called the HBK as special guest ref thing. Sigh. Might as well not bother watching WWE at all and just follow the dirt sheets.

After Santino became Champion, we suddenly had to explain to my girlfriend about the Honk-A-Meter.

I don't know about 'finally' anything. He was the 29th guy eliminated from the Royal Rumble two years ago. He was the last guy eliminated in the Chamber last month.

As soon as they annouced the US Championship match, I knew that Santino would win it.

In other news: Is it just me, or did almost every guy on the roster get a better reaction in Cena's home state than Cena did?

hopefully santino will keep it for a while and still retain it at WM 28. this will be his second title rieghn hopefully he will get a HWY champiun ship push later this year.
