In the case of Benoit using the Sharpshooter, yes Satyrquaze got it. Benoit started using the Sharpshooter as a secondary finisher in 2004. At Backlash he used it to submit Michaels in the triple threat rematch. From there on out, Benoit would use it sparingly to finish matches, occasionly using it as a counter to create a submission threat. In Benoit's last match against Elijah Burke, he used the Sharpshooter to get the win.
I have mixed feelings about Benoit, obviously he killed his wife and young son and then committed suicide. Despite that I cannot deny his contributions to the wrestling industry. This was a guy completely dedicated to his craft and according to many sources, one of those guys who was completely focused on helping the other guys get over in matches. I hate to say this but until Benoit's demise, he was my favourite wrestler, he really put 100% into his matches. I still watch Benoit's matches from time to time but no matter what, he won't be remembered for his ability. I loathe what Benoit did and even though no one can be sure of the circumstances, he still murdered his family and avoided justice by taking the easy way out. As a wrestling fan, it was one of the hardest things for me to get my head round.
Benoit never had a less than good match on any given night. He was treated as something of a prodigy during his career beginnings in NJPW. In 1990 he was given the honour of beating Jushin Liger to become the NJPW Junior Heavyweight Champion. In 1994, Benoit as "Wild Pegasus" became the first winner (and only Gaijin to date) to win the prestigious Super J Cup. If you are wondering what those two accomplishments means, they mean that NJPW showed a tremendous amount of confidence in not just a rookie, but a Gaijin (foreign wrestler). Benoit was also one of the few foreign wrestlers to survive the extremely gruelling New Japan Dojo. Following a short but acclaimed run in ECW, Benoit was signed to a contract with WCW. Recognised by the likes of Ric Flair and Arn Anderson for his ability, they requested he was made a member of the Four Horsemen stable (still considered an honour at the time). Benoit's run in WCW resulted in stellar matches with everyone from Bret Hart to Scott Steiner to Booker T and even Sid Vicious (whom he defeated for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, although this wasn't always recognised due to the events that resulted in the departure of Benoit, Guerrero, Saturn and Malenko).
Benoit's career in the WWE will be remembered for two things. The first of which was his ability to get over with the WWE fanbase on his wrestling ability alone (Benoit's mic skills were limited compared to the likes of The Rock and Steve Austin for example). The second of which is Wrestlemania 20 where he beat Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a triple threat match to finally capture a World Championship (without controversy) and no less in the main event of the biggest wrestling event of the year. It finally cemented his status as one of the greatest of all time and for Benoit it was finally recognition for all he had given to the wrestling industry over the years. His emotion that night was real and its always one of the most poignant images to see him and Eddie Guerrero standing in the ring with both World Championships celebrating the peak of their decades long journey to the top of their game.
