wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

ADR failed as champion in my opinion because they didn't strap him earlier. Sure, I was happy with the result at Wrestlemania because Edge deserved at least one where he walked out as champion, but...

WWE built Del Rio from the onset as someone who would certainly become champion in next to know time. His debut match involved a submission victory over Rey Mysterio and his early booking consisted of him taking out such superstars as Mysterio, Christian and Matt Hardy. The first mistake WWE made was having Del Rio job out to John Morrison in the KOTR tournament. ADR should have won the tournament and spent the next few months bragging about how his destiny was unfolding exactly as he imagined it would.

They could have then given him the United States or Intercontinental Championship and have him go into the Royal Rumble still as the champion. He would then win the Royal Rumble and everything would proceed as before, Edge would walk out Wrestlemania still as WHC, Christian would win the WHC but on the Raw following Extreme Rules...

Miz would come out and challenge Cena to a rematch for the WWE Championship. Since it's The Rock's "appreciation night", Cena would oblige because he wants to save face where Rock is concerned. The match would be full of near falls with Cena eventually getting the win, only for Miz to attack Cena following the decision. Miz would then cut a promo explaining that he's making a statement because his Wrestlemania "moment" was ruined by Cena and Rock before walking out - thus prolonging the feud between Miz and Cena.

The Anonymous GM will then chime in:

Michael Cole: "May I have your attention please, I have just recieved an email from the Anonymous Raw GM - and I quote - Before Raw went on air, I approved a challenge from one of Raw's newest Superstars to John Cena's WWE Championship. Since John Cena's match with The Miz was a personal challenge and not one that was decided by me, the challenge I earlier approved will still go ahead."

ADR's music hits

Alberto Del Rio comes out and enters the ring, he immediately hits the fallen Cena with an Enziguri (a'la Summerslam) and covers him for the win and the WWE Championship.

The problem is then solved, Miz and Cena could have had their main event feud whilst WWE built Del Rio while he was still hot. Del Rio could have lost the championship back to Cena at Capitol Punishment and everything would have proceeded as normal. The only changes I would have made would be Del Rio cashing in at Summerslam, instead of this happening, I'd have Triple H "accidently" cost CM Punk the WWE Championship in the undisputed championship match.

As for ADR cashing in, what better way to get incredible heat than have Del Rio hold the MITB briefcase until Wrestlemania where he cashes in on the champion following one of the world title matches?

I don't have a problem with Hogan being a part of the wrestling scene. I'm just not particularly fond of the way he's part of it now (although he hasn't been on TV in what seems like ages).

Cena has had at least one or two title reigns too many, but it's pointless to dwell on that now. I don't think the lack of fire in ADR's reign (which was still pretty solid in terms of booking and matches, I thought) has anything to do with not getting the belt soon enough. I still just have a hard time seeing him as a main eventer at this juncture. I like the character, and I think he's a great wrestler. It's just that I never really bought him as someone who was practically unstoppable from the get-go.

Injuries aside, WWE has one of the best talent rosters in recent history going right now. I do agree that there are at least a couple of guys who could have been elevated with longer title reigns, and that the problem is one of creative just not being willing to put in the time that's necessary. They want instant, and that kind of thing only happens once in a blue moon. The rest of the time demands time, patience and a willingness to know when to book, and when to step aside to let a talent grow and develop into something special.

I don't blame Cena. He remains a good ambassador for the company, and he remains, in my mind, a better performer and worker than at least some people give him credit for. His value to the company is still tremendous, but this is a critical time in which I think he needs to take a long, long break from winning world titles. If Cena is going to have any continued value, there needs to be at least a couple more guys than at present who are on equal footing to him. The world title isn't critical for that to be done, but it certainly never hurts to use it.

And I'd like to see Jericho feud with Miz, too. C.M. Punk would be interesting as well.

I don't blame John either, as I have said before in the thread, I like John and have been a Cena fan in the past. I just don't like the booking decisions that have been made this past year. You know what? After thinking about it...I can actually totally see Cena beating Punk for the title in the PPV before Wrestemania and going into it as a major heel. That is what they're using Kaine for after all. If that is the case...that'd take the luster away from any Punk vs Jericho match which I think they're going to do.

I wonder if that has more to do with UFC's agreement with Fox than Punk appearing on a UFC card. WWE has a NBC deal...or I'm rambling and don't really care too much about this lol.

I know that. I actually was laughing at the latter part of the article. Also his solo-induction speech IIRC was 44 minutes. I've seen it on youtube. I think it is among the longest speeches done. Shawn's was pretty short last year compared to those others...and you're right I thought it'd be much shorter. Like four or five.

I think Bret's was something like forty, wasn't it?

I wish I had tickets to this thing. It's gonna be good.

The benefit of a heel Cena is that it might put a little edge back on the character, and Cena's talented enough to maintain that edge whenever they turn him face again (which they would almost certainly do).

Title changes at house shows...

Funnily enough, the last time a title changed hands at a house show was back in 2008 when John Morrison and The Miz defeated CM Punk and Kofi Kingston for the World Tag Team Championships.

Ugh. Awesome Truth should be WWE Tag Team Champions. The tag team division is a joke.

Yeah they need some decent tag teams or just eliminate it all together...they have plenty of talent to form a decent tag division...or at least attempt it.

Awesome Truth did break up...that's my point. They should have been made WWE Tag Team Champions, but then Killings had his infraction and creative decided to break them up.

I won't be watching Raw tonight. Better things to do. I'll catch the written up results.

I watched the last segment of Raw...didn't think much of the tag match, but I did think John L shined in that segment. Been waiting for something like that for months from him! Well done Johnny Ace!
