wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

I think WWE's Power 25 is a terrible rating system that only takes victories and storyline prominence into account. If you were going to do it fairly, here is how it would stand (I'll do a top 10)...

1) CM Punk
2) John Cena
3) Triple H
4) Rey Mysterio
5) Christian
6) The Miz
7) Randy Orton
8) Alberto Del Rio
= R Truth
10) John Morrison

Those ratings are based on things like prominence, work rate, overness and interest.

R Truth and John Morrison draw at 10th place because they are more or less along the same level of overness, with Truth as heel and Morrison as face. They are both going into Summerslam with a feud thats attracted moderate interest, but they are going on to one of the big four cards.

Alberto Del Rio is more or less biding his time until WWE decides to have him cash in. Del Rio is an excellent worker and is very over as a heel. Furthermore he has a large following in his native Mexico which gauges interest from an international audience. Randy Orton has grown stale in recent months, but he continues to work at a high level, his reactions from the crowd have remained consistent and he continues to work as lead babyface on Smackdown. The Miz is gaining momentum and staying consistent whilst his overall work rate improves, his increasing popularity could lead to a face turn eventually.

If you said last year that Christian would be top heel on Smackdown and World Heavyweight Champion, many people would laugh, including myself. Instead he's continued to grow out of a potential burial (the 48 hour title reign) and become the top heel on Smackdown. Having consistently good matches with anyone has worked in his favour along with his natural charisma and skills in both face and heel roles. Rey Mysterio went from an upper midcarder to WWE Champion (although it only lasted around an hour) in one week. Lately Mysterio has been having stellar matches with everybody and despite losing the WWE Championship to John Cena, he came out looking like a top guy and not just as the underdog that he usually portrays.

Triple H's return has been pretty big. There is a lot of attention on Trips, despite the fact he is in a non wrestling role (for now). His popularity with both younger and older fans of WWE is enormous.

Both John Cena and CM Punk are on equal popularity footing at the moment. Both men are the focus of WWE at the moment and CM Punk has caught up with Cena through overness in the last month or so. CM Punk is at the top firslty because his match work rate is superior to Cena's. Despite both men having excellent matches together (and CM Punk not actually wrestling since), Punk wins because his delivery and skills as a personality (and not just a character) far exceed Cena's in the current storyline.

Out of interest, here is every currently recognised World Champion.

WWE Championship: CM Punk and John Cena (both recognised as WWE Champion)
WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Christian
IWGP Heavyweight Championship: Hiroshi Tanahashi
AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship: Suwama
GHC Heavyweight Championship: Go Shiozaki
Zero1 World Heavyweight Championship: The Sheik
TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Kurt Angle
NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Adam Pearce
AAA World Heavyweight Championship: Jeff Jarrett
CMLL World Heavyweight Championship: Ultimo Guerrero

That's actually a pretty fair list. I still don't know what the hell happened with the Miz for him to deserve essentially being stripped of the WWE Championship. No one has offered an explanation of why this happened after the company spent months building him up into uber-heel status and the face of their company. He should STILL be WWE Champion and I'm not just marking out here, I think it would have made clear business sense to keep him as Champion when you have a fan base that is clearly divided about Cena and probably doesn't give a damn if he's WWE Champion. At least The Miz was over as a heel and gaining in popularity. Now he seems stuck.

I think there really going to promote cm punk into a great champion all the way to wrestlemania. for a heel is vastly one of my all time favorite's. I mostly follow face's but when there comes a heel and he's awesome I like him no matter what cm punk is one of those. as for the miz it's not that he's a heel that bothers me it's that he's most anoying persona's in the wwe universe. that's why I hate the or I should say dislike the miz he's become a good wrestler over the years.

CM Punk isn't a traditional heel though. He's an anti-hero like Stone Cold was. As for Punk being promoted as Champion all the way through Wrestlemania...we'll see, I personally doubt it. WWE will find someway to screw this up.

good I can't wait.

cm punk vs alberto del rio great match way better than john cena and jack swagger. I am wondering if alberto will try to cash in his mitb case at summerslam or if triple hhh will even book alberto. did you get enough of the miz tonight first the beating he gave rey and the koffie kingston match was awesome. I am all so sick of his 7/11 comericals as well.

Losing interest in this Raw...I know what I said about Jericho before but all this talk about Undisputed Champions makes me think Chris is going to make a "surprise" return pretty soon.

Nope. I think they're gonna take this to Survivor Series frankly. I can see it where we get a DQ or a Double DQ or something that happens that results in no clear winner being established.

Some news:

-Rey Mysterio will face the NEWWWWWWWW WWE Undisputed Champion at next week's Raw following Summer Slam.

-Jay Lethal has signed with Ring of Honor (good for him)

-Melina was denied access to the backstage of Raw last night. I assume she was attempting to hang out with John or maybe her buddies (if she has any).

-Gail Kim tweeted that WWE is keeping her under contract until it runs out so she can't sign with anyone else. If this is true she signed a three year deal in 08 so her contract expired at the end of this year.

-WWE released a bunch of developmental wrestlers I don't know or don't care about.

well I hope they use her instead of doing nothing. I understand want time off for her new marriage but hopefully they'll sighn her to another contract. I glad jay lethal will be at ROH. maybe they'll use him to a better degree than tna. as for rey I am glad he'll get his rematch.

What is it about released her that you refuse to understand timothy? She no longer wants to be with the WWE and they don't want her. They essentially fired her. Vince has had a practice like this with similar wrestlers I think. Ric Flair comes to mind. This is to keep her from signing with Impact Wrestling or ROH if she wants to. From the implied tweet this seems like what she will do.

What rematch? You're assuming that Punk is gonna win? :) He's just getting a title shot.

All released workers since the late 1990's have had a 90 day "no compete" clause written into their contracts. Should they be released, they cannot wrestle for any national promotion until that period of time expires.

This was done during the Monday Night Wars as a method of damage control. Released workers would show up on WCW within a matter of days (Nash, Hall, etc). The no compete clause doesn't exclude WWE itself however. At any point within the 90 day no compete period, WWE can still re-sign the released worker. Such was the case during Daniel Bryan's hiatus.
