Wrestling (AEW, WWE, etc)

AEW Revolution was a great show! Kingston/Jericho, the tag threeway, Punk/MJF and Moxley/Danielson were all super good matches (Hangman/Cole was good too but I never bought Cole as a title contender.)

If you smoke, let the anesthesiologist know…he partied hearty…but that can catch up with you in many ways.

He wasn’t a well man before that though. He had a history of substance abuse problems that probably played a factor

Per Sean Waltman (X-Pac), Hall had gone back to drinking over the past two years and his body was deteriorating. Waltman even had DDP go over to Hall's place to try to get him straightened out, but ultimately his demons were too much.

He was lying on the floor of his home for days with a broken hip before DDP found him. It's pretty fucking horrible.

I'm watching Wrestlmania, and it's been a decent show so far. I'm realizing I have a hate for Pat McAfee though.

I can’t stand Pat as well. I have no idea who he is and I hope Austin beats the living shit out of him.

While it didn't start out well (McAfee's antics at the beginning and the unfortunate injury in the first match), that was a very entertaining show. This is the first time I've really watched Wrestlemania live and I was not disappointed. The Becky/Bianca match was probably my favorite, while the Rhodes/Rollins match told a really great story and the Austin match brought back the nostalgic feels. I guess Rhonda/Flair was decent, but it kind of felt meh behind those other three matches. I hope tomorrow night the momentum continues. I'm not sure if this is make me watch WWE consistently full time (It's quite a commitment), but for being a special weekend, it was a fun 4 hours.

That Rhodes match was awesome. I wasn’t expecting that much from stone cold but that was a lot of fun as well. I’m confused as to why KO was taken away though. Stone Cold was the one drinking and driving.

Bianca/Becky was the best for me, second year in a row where Bianca's had the best match of WM (well, unless something tonight is better.) Cody showing up doing his exact AEW gimmick and entrance felt surrel, like it was an AEW invasion angle or something (it's not though!)

Well, I didn't like night 2 as much as night 1, but overall it wasn't bad. The highlight somehow ended up being Austin giving Vince the worst Stone Cold Stunner in human history. It was hilarious. But I never want to see Brock and Roman wrestle each other again. Every match between them is just the same six moves (in fact I think Roman literally did nothing but the Superman Punch and Spear the whole match) repeated over and over. Then a totally underwhelming finish.

Are all the Brock/Roman matches just them trading off finishing moves for 10 minutes? It wasn't the fact that it ended early (Even though it was anti-climatic) or that Roman might have been legit injured. It was after a night of seeing some athletic wrestling, the "greatest match of all time" was repetitive. Yeah you had Hayman get involved and be funny, but there wasn't much to that match from a story telling perspective. It was overhyped and ended the show on a sour note (Even though it was a great weekend overall).

Usually, Roman has his 5 moves of doom like everyone else on the WWE roster. But against Lesnar, its just 2 moves of doom.
That's a fundamental WWE problem. The 5 moves of doom are stupid and should really be thrown in the dust-bin of history.

Right now, I'm more excited for the first ever, AEW x NJPW co-hosted joint PPV: "Forbidden Door"

We'll get to see AEW Wrestlers face off against NJPW Wrestlers in a cross company event.

It's going to be interesting, one of the largest cross-overs in Japanese & US Pro Wrestling history.

I don’t watch New Japan so it doesn’t really excite me. Plus they have already spoiled the concept as many Japan superstars have had matches already

My favorite wrestling moves... no, I know they might not be the latest terminology.

1. Superplex. Impractical, but spectacular.
2. Brainbuster. How DO they fake this without hurting someone for real? Yes, I know it's fake.
3. Power Bomb.
4. Flying body press. Spectacular finisher.
5. DDT. One of the few wrestling moves that might actually work in a real fight.
6. Choke slam.
7. Boston Crab. A chiropractor's dream come true.
