Survivor Series was good. Some Star Wars Episode III vibes at the end there.

Only in wrestling would a man hitting his son would get a massive cheer from the crowd. :)

Well, it was a VERY long build up to that point.

After repeated humiliations by Dom, a Father can only take so much BS.

The Hall of Fame this year is looking really quiet. I think only 3 are going in and one of them is dead. They couldn't get more into the 2023 class? Is HHH in the Hall of Fame and why not if he isn't. Wrestlmania is in Hollywood this year but it seems like it could be bigger than it is.

Night 1 of WrestleMania was really good, with the last two matches (I'm not really counting Miz/Macafee as a match) being great. I'm not always a fan of Charlotte's but she worked her ass off with Rhea and it was one of the best women's matches WWE has ever done.

    Rey/Dom was great entertainment too.

    NIght 2...not as good.

I thought Sheamus would win the IC match with the build up, but Gunther is great and the match was awesome so I can't really complain with that.
I thought Asuka should have won the women's title since it could be her last chance to get a decent title reign and Bianca could chas her for a while before winning it back, but I was fine with Bianca winning overall (and with Vince back they're never going to get behind a Japanese champion.)
But Cody losing? With the exact same finish as every Roman match? I don't get they're waiting for. If Cody's ever gonig to be champion it should have been at WM. There's no bigger event! And who do they have that's a better choice to beat Roman? If Cody wins it at some secondary show later in the year it's never going to feel as big as if he'd won at WM.

But Vince is back so things are going to stop making sense.

They probably want Roman to get past 1023 days. Cody probably wins them at Summerfest

Night 1 is up there with the best WMs ever. Night 2 was slower and not as good.

If I were the rank the shows I watched WM weekend

    1. WM39 Night 1
    2. ROH Supercard of Honor
    3. WM39 Night 2

If there was any WM where she would finally get a WM win, this should have been it. She's didn't bring this persona from her days wrestling in Japan as her makeover for nothing. Bianca could have taken the loss, imo.

A). They want Roman to reach 1000 days, which is a miracle to reach in the TikTok era. B). Cody’s path was way too easy. C) Fans are too attached to everything major needing to happen at WM.

That all said, Roman could use a few clean wins here and there.

I guess I just don't get the thousand days thing. It's just a number. But yeah WWE love to hype that stuff. I still feel like when Cody invetibably wins it can't be as big as WrestleMania.

Tony Khan has announced AEW All In for August at Wembley Stadium in London. In theory it could draw 90,000 fans...in theory. But I can't fault his ambition.

I'm fine with Cody not winning, it was a good swerve and clearly he's still in the picture. He'll get it soon enough, and he can have a more drawn-out rivalry now with the Bloodline.

Or, he was. McMahon is back, and God knows what kind of havok he'll wreak.

It's because they haven’t hit that number since the days of Hulk Hogan. And if you know anything about WWE, its that while Sammartino’s run is held in high regard because it built the company, they also tend to act like nothing in wrestling history existed before Hogan beat Iron Sheik in Madison Square Garden in ’83.

We’ll see. This isn’t filling 10K seat in Chicago or 20K in NYC. This is filling 90K seats, period. That implies that AEW is at a certain level of popularity to pull that off. And non-WWE companies have peaked at 40K in the States, and 60K in Japan. And 100K in North Korea, but that last one was under very different circumstances.

It feels like Night 1 of Mania was a month ago with all the news in the last week. That Flair/Ripley match was insane, as was Rey and Dominik and the Showcase match. I didn't see Raw but it was universally panned and who knows what the future of WWE will be. Feel bad for Triple H.

I don't think anyone is realistically expecting 90,000 (not even Khan.) AEW's current record is 20,000. I'm going to be bold and predicted 58,472 for the Wembley show. They'll get Ant and Dec to wrestle or something.

They’ll get King Charles to wrestle Harry. Father and son feuds are popular these days.

This is probably where they’ll bring CM Punk back. And if they bring in Ospreay for the show, then Okada and Tanahashi might be on the card too.

Ugh. I really can't stand Punk anymore.

I wish he'd just stay gone. He's got X-Pac heat as far as I'm concerned.

Well they've already sold 50,000 with months still to go, so it looks like my "bold" prediction was highly conservative really.

    50k/90k isn't half bad.

This could really push AEW in the UK

If it was a few years ago I might have gone. AEW hasn’t been very good recently to warrant me purchasing tickets.

WWE's BackLash PPV was genuinely good, pretty much most of the card lineup had good matches.

The crowd was super into everybody.
