WoW - Musings & Discussion

I cannot stand the music in Grizzly Hills, it makes me want to shoot something. Yes I know you can turn the music off but I have been enjoying a lot of it and haven't turned it off in a long time. Some of the Northrend music is quite good though Durotar is still my favorite zone for music.

On my stay in the Outlands forever jaunt I got everything I could out of Nagrand, finally doing the whole hidden Hero of the Mag'har quest chain which was absolutely wonderful. There is a cinematic when you finish it in which Thrall comes to Garadar and a scene plays out of the Orc history with the Burning Legion. It is fantastic stuff. I could stay in Nagrand forever and RP wise I consider Garadar to my Orc's home.

Nagrand is pretty awesome. It makes me think of what the Serengeti must look like.
I actually like the music in Grizzly Hills, but then I like that kind of music.

My very favorite music though, was what I listened to when TBC came out and you're standing in Silvermoon City. I just love that music.

I have to say, WoW has some of the best music for an MMORPG.

It makes me think of Roger Dean's art.

Yes it certainly does. The Silvermoon music is very pretty. Durotar is rather stirring and suits the Orcs IMHO.

Wow. I looked up the prices on the WoW soundtracks, and they're going for $45 to $163.

I can't stand ebay opportunists. :shifty:

That's expensive.. I was listening to the WOTLK soundtrack the other day, not really as distinctive as the others but good. That's the only one I have access too. If I can find someone with the other ones I will burn them, I figure I pay my subscription fee so this is hardly stealing :)

I guess they only came out with the Special Editions?

Like the Panda, ~sob~

The WOTLK soundtrack is far more subdued, except when it's really pushing for that German and Russian operatic, which is awesome. I love dark chorale and symphonic music. You know, I realize he's closely tied to Nazism and all that, but Wagner's symphonies are incredible. I love that kind of music.

This isn't too bad:

Read the track listings!! It will make your buy it now finger itch!

Though I wonder what it means by "only on the CD". Not in the game?

I think it just means extended tracks that you won't find ingame.

Of all the capital cities, Thunderbluff has my favorite music, followed probably by Stormwind. The walk onto the Valley of Heroes is just awesome.

To be truthful, I'm not happy about them offering In-game pets for real cash. I know they do this with the card game but with the card game, you get...well cards. It just...doesn't feel right and I'm really afraid where this is going.

i wasnt happy with it, but it's not really different than the TCG or the blizzcon pets... people buy them off of ebay, and i highly doubt the people that buy the cards off of ebay are doing it for the TCG portion...

I am of a rather even temperment, but I have to admit I just read this and I am shocked! It sets a bad precedent in my opinion.

I can just imagine the reactionary QQ that is going to ensue. This news just hit wow.com a couple of hours ago and there are already 234 responses.

I AM BUYING THE PANDAREN AND INFLATING HIM WITH MY PET BISCUITS!!!!!!

(Of course I don't agree with this trend at all.. but I'm a consumer.)

"Once activated, this World of Warcraft in-game pet key applies to all present and future characters on a single World of Warcraft license. "

And future characters.. well these will common as dirt.

Never mind, I just bought both of them. I see they have a few rather nice action figures added to the line too:

But still no girl orcs. Bleh.

You should listen to the Ragnarok Online soundtrack. It beats wow by a mile. Tho the theme of Dalaran reminds me a LOT of BSG...

Oh, and im totally getting the Pandaren Monk...

The monk is awesome. I have inflated him with the pet biscuit and he is almost as tall as a human. He has several animations which are very cool..

These emotes work with him: /bow and he bows back to you or anyone else who bows to him. /drink and he will sit down and then drink from the flask on his hip and wipe his mouth. Sometimes you have to /drink a couple times to get him to drink and sometimes it works the first time.

I got the Lil K.T. and stood next to varying rats to see him freeze them but it didn't happen, will try again.

If pandaren ever do get playable, i want them to be as small as the monk. Gnome small. Kick ass 3 ft tall bear commin atcha? Oh yeah!

I wanna KT. :(

Eh, I'll probably get one soon. I'm a sap for the cute pets...I just forget to summon 'em.
