Would you watch this cast in a weekly series?

Yes. Yes I would. (kudos to anyone who gets the reference)

Going more in-depth, it would be extremely awesome to see a weekly series featuring the nuTrek cast, especially since the possibilities for storytelling are pretty much endless and boundless. Heck, as much as I can't wait to see what Abrams and Co. have in store for us for the next film, I'd gladly take a weekly TV show instead.

From what I've seen of Fringe, the only other Bad Robot production I've watched, it looks like they do their sci-fi well. So, if a Trek series had to be in the hands of someone, let it be Bad Robot.

I'd definitely enjoy a new television series with the new cast. It's never going to happen, though. The best a new television series could hope for would be two or maybe three principle actors from the movie. Zachary Quinto and John Cho have both recently done television roles--they're the most likely candidates for spinning off the movie into television. Anton Yelchin is the third most likely candidate, having done television roles as recently as 2006. The rest are out of the question.

It sure would be fun if it happened, though.

I'd take a reboot series with NuSpock played by Quinto as the captain.

I'd take that series and marry it and have its babies.

Would the babies be TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT reboots? :D

Although given your av, I'd be afraid they might be salamanders with pointy ears instead. ;)

I'd give it a chance as I'll give the next movie a chance. I wasn't a fan of XI, but that was all mainly due to dialogue and some story elements I didn't care for, oh and the terrible handling of the Romulans as villains.

I'm hopeful for the next movie to get into its stride and really bring these characters to something I can appreciate and respect, but a TV show?

Let's take it one step at a time. If the next movie feels more Trek and they don't try to shove pointless sexual references (only in the script to establish a hetrosexual crew) and insane Vulcans who don't realise the ship has a brig, among some other things, then I might be happy.

One good thing guaranteed for the next movie is less use of lens flares. I read that JJ admitted to overusing them, so hopefully there'll be less head aches for ST: XII.

Most definitely not. Can't stand most of the cast, especially Pegg as Scotty. Urban as McCoy was fantastic. Pine and Quinto were largely ok but as a whole, they just don't work for me.

Talking about Prime TOS here. Oops

I would definitely watch a TV series with this cast. Everyone was great! :Thumbs up;

Pegg is too busy making bad comedies about aliens to do TV. His role will be recast with Paul McGillion. :bolian:

He would have been a great choice, but would have been by far the least famous of the main cast and possibly a bit out of place amongst the likes of Urban, Quinto, Zaldana, Pine etc.

Why they had to go for an all star cast, I don't know.

If a TV show were to re-cast and recapture the spirit of the original show, then It'd be great, but I don't know how many of the new generation would watch.

$$$

And aside from John Cho, Zoe Saldana, and Simon Pegg - Everyone else on that cast was a bunch of unknowns. I didn't know who a Chris Pine was until after that movie... ZQ I knew as the guy that was chopping people's heads off and eating brains.... but it wasn't like he was "all star" big. Then Anton? Who? Then there's Karl Urban but he isn't a Hollywood A-lister.

Eric Bana... ehh... I guess you can throw him up there with Zoe and crew.

^^And I don't believe Zoe was really big until this film either. Zoe's profile was undoubtedly raised with this film, and then raised a number of times more with Avatar. Of course, the guest appearances like Winona Ryder, Jennifer Morrison, Tyler Perry, Bruce Greenwood were a lot more well known than the main cast.

And the irony in that. I think it was more of treat seeing all the big stars making cameos, lol. I know I was surprised to see Tyler Perry in the movie.

Star Trek can't survive on broadcast, and cable has shorter seasons inherently, so if Star Trek were on TV, it would be 13 eps per season. Kinda short, but I'd take it over nothing.

The length of the season guarantees nothing. There are plenty of 13-ep cable series that are junk.
