90's Trek is 90's Trek. It is what it is and trying to redo it in 2020 would just as likely be a flop as a success. You're already on the back foot with the fanbase comparing Kate Mulgrew to whoever took on Janeway or questioning whether they got Tuvok right. Did anyone actually embrace Zachary Quinto as Spock?

Any new Trek, for me, should look forward.

Hm...... My first instinct would be to say no. But the more I think about it, the more I think it could work, asuming they get the premise right this time. Voyager dropped many balls when it comes to execution. The Maquis issue, supply issues. Long term consequences of the crews actions.

Yeah, I'd like a do-over.

I would watch a Voyager reboot, but I think Voyager is already phenomenal as-is. What I'd really like to see is an HD/UHD remaster of VOY (and DS9) in the same vein as the TNG remaster that we got. Sadly, that's probably not going to happen :(

I could give an animated Voyager a chance as long as the characters looked like those in the series.

I hope a reboot would deal with galactic structure more. Voyager was thrown to the galactic rim - maybe even hitting the barrier. Talaxia and co are outer-rim polities. Reflect that. When they get to the core - show the core, the galactic core barrier, big energy civilization there, the starlight flooding the windows. Stuff like that. But I would be interested at first just to see how they'll go.

Mixed take-I liked his portrayal but he was nowhere near as good as Nimoy.
Because that's nearly impossible to do. Both Pine and Quinto acknowledge that they were taking on a big challenge with those roles and while giving respect to what "Mr. Shatner" (as Pine put it) did, he brought his own take.

I agree that would be interesting and one I'd def. check out, esp. if they used some of the trippy colors and other stylistic tendencies of TAS, which had some great-looking animated creatures and worlds.

I'd say "no," for the same reason I would not want a TNG, DS9, or ENT "reboot."

Those properties are already derivative in that they are spin-offs from the original. It's doubly-derivative to now take that spin-off and somehow reboot it. Not only would it be derivative, but I think it would be very confusing and uninteresting to all but the most targeted of audiences.

So, it's not because I don't like those shows....I just don't think it's a good, marketable idea.

If it was done well I'd check it out.

I've had a few ideas about how I'd reboot Voyager, such as having Elizabeth Shelby as her Captain and Calvin Hudson as the Maquis Leader (give the series a connection to what's come before), changing Neelix to be more Han Solo-esque or replace him with a young Kazon instead for another source of conflict. I'd also include elements such as keeping Seska on the ship after her true heritage is discovered, serialised story telling (the show was screaming out for it), not undoing the Year of Hell, the discovery of the Hera in the Delta Quadrant, getting Voyager back earlier in Season 7 followed up by a mission to return and recover the Hera's crew.

I would watch a reboot of Voyager if done right and not forcing their (whoever they are) personal political and moral views down everyone's throat like Discovery tries to do. If it could be like original Voyager in some ways, but more compelling and thought provoking. And (please don't hate me for this) a Dr. not so F'n annoying as EMH was on the original. Sorry but his character was interesting in small doses, but too much of him stealing the show was a bit much. Even Dr. Smith from original Lost in Space wasn't that annoying. Ok, maybe he wasn't that bad, but I would prefer his character din't get that much play as before.

No. I don't have any faith that the folks in charge of Trek today could improve on the original.
