Trip is hormone screwed and freaking out. In Hatchery Archer is hormone screwed and bonded. What this says about them I do not know, but they both shook it off pretty readily.

Not being a father myself, I find that odd that you can really love a child just because it has your genes!? I rather believe that you need to build a relationship for that. I find the end of Terra Prime overly dramatic/emotional.

T'Pol is Vulcan and "just knew" that the child was hers and Trip's and was out there and needed them. T'Pol was bonded to Trip. Maybe there was also a telepathic link between the baby and her genetic parents.
