Would you date a Q?

It doesn't have to be TNG's Q. It can be any Q. If he/she asked you out would you ever have any problem with it? I was wondering. We know your suppose to judge people as individuals but would someone having God like powers make you uncomfortable in terms of getting to close? If he/she ever got angry you have no idea what would happen. Plus how would not being with a Q not make you feel very insecure with your basic humanity and limitations he/she would not have.

Me I am lonely so I know I would. I would be willing to take that chance. Questions in regards to sex and what happens if we fall in love and I get old and near death though would make for some interesting things to talk about.

Maybe the Q who asks you out doesn't do that. PLus I am not sure how many of them ever play God. I think our Q might have done it for fun from time to time just to mess with people but he also make the Q quitainum upset over that type of behavior. Either way though I think we can all agree nobody would want to date him. Well unless you like to live dangerously like Vash for awhile.

Yes but that would be rape. You would hope that if you fall in love with a Q it would be a Q who is a good person despite his/her powers.

I would, however, Suzie Plaskon who played the mother of Q's son (among other roles in the various shows) in that VOYAGER episode, if she were to ask me.

Riker became a Q for a while. He eventually went back to being human. Why? It seemed that the absolute power was starting to corrupt him. However, if you're a Q, you can pretty much do anything. Even conditional modify your powers, assuming of course the "Q Continuum" allows it (who knows what wonky protocols they may have--we've seen signs of some pretty weird ones depicted in Star Trek).

I would assume that becoming Q would then endow you with vast knowledge. Now, wouldn't that mean being aware of what's at stake for human mortality? Wouldn't you know for sure if there's an afterlife for these beings? Or if it's all just dust... And when Riker went back to being human, did he suddenly lose all of that knowledge? Hmmmm...

Why do I ask? Well... if you date a Q, certainly you'd like to explore the possibility of becoming one yourself. Assuming the Q is enamored enough with you. But yeah, they may decline... but still, how could one pass up this once in a lifetime experience?

Yes, I'd be up for dating a Q, although one would ask why a Q would do so... with any of us mortals. Unless we're truly exceptional like Jean-Luc Picard? I'd find it hard to resist asking all the hard questions... like what's the point of human existence and is it ultimately doomed to failure? And then you hear what you don't want to hear... prompting you to ask Q to change your memory so you can live out your life without a cloud of depression.

It's a matter of anticipation. You may not know what would happen if you cheesed off your date, but you absolutely know something will happen.

So you keep on your p's and q's and go out of your way to be accomodating, cordial and respectful Treat it like My Super Ex-Girlfriend and don't do what Luke Wilson did.

I'd be deeply suspicious of his intentions ... why would he possibly be interested in dating me? I feel I'd be nothing but some kind of novelty for him, I'd just be some momentary curiosity so he could brag he's "had a human female." I don't believe I could be a soul mate for an immortal and omnipotent being, so I don't know what the point would be. And I don't believe power-imbalanced relationships are ever really a good idea.
