I understand your position too, but believe me I do not wait a personal apologize or a some kind of formal official declaration or whatsoever. I wish they begin to think about cooperate with the fans, who invest time, money and have such a great passion for Star Trek Universe, like you and me. It would be very smart. As I said before, deeds are important, not words.
And I wish "we" as fans could organize ourselves in better ways to keep our "rights". One of the brilliant internet theorist Evgeny Morozov predictions, that we as consumers/users will establish virtual unions to defend us against the all-mighty concerns. Well, we see already which power and impact has the social media. If we have the platforms like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram as TATV aired, and if we could use them effectively, like some youtubers today, we would not discuss about our disappointment today. (Maybe I am wrong about medium, it comes to motivation; those housewives succeeded with hand written letters. )

Maybe instead of fitting in a fat, bloated, Frakes and the worst actor in Trek history, Sirtis, into it, they should have been professional enough to write and produce a final 42 minute episode that left the door open, that paved the way for a possible recurrence in the future.
They knew Enterprise was being cancelled, but didn't need finality, needless deaths and fucking ridiculous holodeck scenarios.
All they had to do was write a decent season ending episode, meet and address a protagonist, solve a crisis, then set out into space, until maybe sometime in the future, someone cared enough about Archer and Co, to pick up the baton.
Why couldn't they have focussed on the Shran thing with his daughter, rescue her and ultimately pave the way for the feisty blueskin to join the crew ?
We might never have seen the next day, or the next week or year with Commander Shran as part of the crew, but it might have whetted the appetites of future production suitors.
Or maybe they should just have said, "You know, Terra Prime is a decent epitaph for the show, let's leave it at that"

Not a fan of the TATV. I think the Terra Prime episodes would have made a fine closing.

I don't think the order was much of a factor. I think it was mostly the disheartening ending we were left with after 4 years of invested time. I'm sure much of the criticism of details and accuracy and whether the amount of focus of next gen actors, holodeck etc. could be picked apart just the same as in any of the past Ent/ST episodes. Obviously that happens daily. So if it was a regular ep somewhere else in the lineup order, yes maybe still unpopular for those reasons, but the order itself would not be even close to a solution for the outrage. Personally I think its all about what you are leaving the audience with as an ending in combination of being the finale (being final). Usually that's the story itself, or in this case the ending of the story. Killing off the best story Arc of which they probably accidentally came across/created (Trip and T'Pol relationship), just reeks of trying to needlessly check the edgy check box. It’s a slap in the face and really isn’t a good way to say thanks for watching and your support (Valentine to fans??? How is that a Valentine?). It was more like, Thanks for Playing

I was always curious if TATV Trip (and T’Pol) ending wasn’t there or was just an ending in a style as it was done in “Terra Prime”, if TATV would be still criticized yes, but no more than other eps, and yes accepted even as a final ep with certainly much more appreciation than they receive today towards the producers/writers. Maybe this version of the same question needs a new thread?
