Worst Episode of DS9 Season Two Part One

Garth Rockett

The Second Round for Season One is now complete, with "Move Along Home" the choice for TrekBBS's least favorite. A bit of a shame, as I actually like that one! But I've always known I'm in the minority on that score. It will compete against the "winners" from Seasons Two through Seven. So on with the voting!

As with Season One Part One, in this round you can select the THREE episodes that are your least favorite. When this round ends, the five top vote getters will face off to decide which is the worst from Season Two. Let the voting begin!

Second Sight, Sanctuary, Playing God.

Pointless, irritating and another subpar Dax episode.

Others I considered:

Invasive Procedures was lame, but redeemed by John Glover (plus Tim Russ and Meghan Gallagher).

Melora wasn't great, but it was a look at the proposed original science officer, who was gonna be "wheel-chair bound". Rivals was weak, but Chris Sarandon as a shady El Aurian has some merit.

Paradise. I sooooo hate the luddite woman. Sooo much that the episode is more effective that I care to admit.

I find most of the season quite strong. Even episodes like Second Sight and Sanctuary that most people seem to dislike, I've always enjoyed.

My votes went to Melora, Rivals, and Profit and Loss -- all 3 of which are so incredibly boring I've never been able to rewatch them the whole way through.

"Second Sight" & "Melora" are easy picks.

The rest of Season 2's weaker episodes are mostly just decent but dull or they have some strong elements. I chose "Rivals", though I don't really dislike it.

This is easy:

1. Sanctuary: The Skreeans are probably one of THE most annoying, ungrateful and unlikeable races ever seen on Trek. Not once throughout the episode do I feel any pitty whatsoever for these people. I will never really know why Kira does (I know why theoretically it's just not there in the episode IMHO). I am SO glad Bajor didn't allow them to stay.
2. Melora: Melora's proof that one person can be incredibly annoying as well. Add in a stupid Trek style romance, and you've got all the ingredients for bad TV.
3. Second Sight: One big, fat YAWN for this one. Enough said.

Melora and Rivals for prestated reasons.

My third choice would be Blood Oath. A bit of fanwankery to resurrect some TOS Klingons. Doesn't anyone die in the Trekverse?

Add to that the sight of Terry Farrell trying to, well act isn't the right word, but trying to 'look' tough and coming across as just pathetic. An episode I want to flush from the canon.

My picks:

Invasive Procedures
Melora
Second Sight

Overall, season 2 is offered some great overlooked episodes. There were only a few that weren't quite up to par. I would include Rivals as my 4th choice

I actually like Melora and Second Sight. Mainly for the guest actress in each, though.

Rivals
Armageddon Game
Paradise ... Hate, Hate, Hate :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

I gotta go with Sanctuary, those aliens were really hard to feel bad for. I'm still a good person right?

Melora wasn't great but the idea of a low g species was kinda cool, usually only see that stuff in the Trek lit.
