World Series baby!!!

Well that game took long enough, good lord, Im ready to watch some football at this point. Great game Phillies...that ninth inning was incredible. As much as I hate the Rays, I love Joe Maddon, and that five man infield was something to behold.

It was interesting. Phillies keep it close, but it wouldn't be great baseball otherwise.

My favorite Phillie is Shane Victorino. Why? Because he's Shane Victorino. He hustles around the bases, in the outfield, always gives it his all, and wears this dopey looking helmet when batting. But my second favorite Philadelphia player is Jamie Moyer, and I'm so happy for him right now. To pitch in the World Series for the team you grew up cheering for must be something, and to do so at his age is incredible. He's almost 46!

Also, his reaction to Evan Longoria's hit getting caught by Burrell when everyone thought it was a HR was hilarious.

If anybody int he world deserves a championship right now, it is Jamie Moyer. He's truly a class act.

Having the game run that late couldn't have helped the ratings. I wish the Rays could have pulled it out, but it was an exciting game.

I think the Rays were wrong to walk the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, put to much pressure on the pitcher, and made it near impossible for the Phillies not to win.

I get that the Rays are playing great small ball, but I do think if either team could put on a display of power in the next 2 games, that team will win the series.

Meanwhile if the starting pitching match up has anything to do with it, Rays should win tonight, if not they will be in serious trouble on Monday

The Rays are dead and buried, with Cole Hammels pitching the clinching game tomorrow.

It was a great season nonetheless... no one expected the Rays to get this far before the season started.

I hope they continue to have many more great years. I enjoyed my trip to Tampa this summer, and I am glad to see that they finally have a baseball team to be proud of.

yep it does look alot like the Phillies will clinch tomorrow night. I feel for the Rays such a good season, and then to blow it at the end like this, but as I said previously the Phillies show a bit of power, and they win the game.

Well don't get hasty...strange things happen in baseball. Anything is possible. Remember...the Phils barely lost game one.

That said, it does not look good for the Rays...

Hopefully the Phils wrap it up tomorrow night!

There's a guy dressed as Santa in the crowd :D

Did you find him by looking for where all the Philly fans were throwing their beer bottles? ;)

Nah, he was wearing team colors, so we supported him. Saint Nick is a Phillies fan, didn't you know?

I'm glad to see the Phillies get bored with hitting poorly and change things up for some variety tonight.

Tough spot to put the pitcher in, but they didn't have much of a choice- they had to set up for the force out at home. The Rays were pretty much doomed in that game anyway.

Now that Ryan Howard and the rest of the Phillies' bats have come alive, it'll be tough for the Rays to stage a comeback. I'm not giving up hope, but they're definitely sitting behind the eight ball now.

It's a tough spot for certain, but I'm not about to question Maddon's moves right now. They've nearly all worked before, and he almost pulled it out in game 3 with the extra infielder. Things is when your number 3 and 4 hitters are a combined 0-for-29, 16 K's there isn't a whole lot a manager can do. Not when those two (Longoria, Pena) have been so integral to your success all season long.

that is true, the game does goes on about "the curse of..." from time to time.

That said nothing was stopping Sutcliffe & O Brien calling the series for the Phillies last night

What the hell was wrong with the refs last night, calling that one play safe (I think it was Jimmy Rollins, caught in the run-down between 3rd base and home) when even I could bloody well see he was out? :scream:
