"World Enough and Time"

It sure is going to be interesting to see how BAF-1 feeds into Blood and Fire - Part 2. I am so curious!

The Enterprise has taken heavy damage. The BAF-1 Teaser was absolutely incredible. My favourite scene.... WAIT! Now I'm doing it too! The Topic is "World Enough and Time"!

I really liked how they opened and closed with scenes of Sulu in the future, some year after ST V, I presume. That was really a neat way to frame the episode. Then we got to see old Sulu, young Sulu and middle-aged Sulu! And without time travel! Imagine that!

It was indeed pretty cool. And the scenes were so nicely done, that I didnt even mind not seeing the Enterprise sailing into the "sunset" in the end like I've come to expect from TOS...

As a gay man I am exposed to heterosexual material all of the time, but I am never offended, and I would never stop watching a show over it.

I doubt Phase II will miss you. You obviously aren't a true fan of Trek anyway. After all, Trek is a show that embraces philosophies such as IDIC, tolerance, respect for differences, open minds, etc.

Maybe there is a Bizzaro/Mirror Universe RedNeck Trek version out there somewhere for you.

I won't miss Phase II so the feeling is mutual. I am a true fan of Trek, more than you know..I'm just trying to keep some sort of morality in Trek for the younger viewers at least so to get a younger fan base to keep the series going for longer than we are here on this earth..If all Trek is going to do is appeal to the restricted viewers it is now then when that fan base gets older and less interested there is no more left...I look at the big picture, some people can only see what is in front of them.. take care dudes...

What you are talking about is not tolerance...but rather hate. And we have things called Hate Laws to keep people like you in check.

Sorry to shake your world, but I work with teenagers in my profession. I have worked with thousands of teenagers. The vast majority of them are very open-minded and tolerant. Many of today's youth are rejecting the narrow-minded politics of hate that people like you promote. If only more adults were as open-minded and accepting as teens.

Now that he is gone, who wants to discuss WEAT? I thought it was an excellent fan film. When I watched it, it seemed like I was watching a Hollywood/Paramount production. It was simply incredible! James Cawley does not do it for me as Kirk, but even his performance only elicited a few cringes in this episode! I agree with an earlier post -- it should have won the Hugo!

I never said I was leaving but I'm glad it thrills you. When you feel you are right, being narrow minded is not a bad thing..2+2=4...that is correct and pretty narrow minded if you don't accept another answer...teen brains are not fully developed yet and never had much life experiences and have limited knowledge so I don't base my feelings or anything a bunch of teens accept. Teens accept too many things, ever hear of the rap songs that advocate murder and defiance of authority? And you accept their view? Whatever dude..whatever....

And to clear it up, I never anywhere stated I hated anyone..I don't advocate hate either..not liking the way things go or a lifestyle is different..you can love a person and dislike what they do...if you can't do that or understand that then you just proved something to yourself how limited your thought process is..

I come out here because I like Star Trek and I thought it would be neat to chat about fan productions like "World Enough and Time." Because of the late hours I work, I don't have much time for hanging with friends. So I hoped that this forum will help fill that void. Thanks for everyone who's actually been discussing what a great episode WEaT was. I honestly don't know what to do with this recurring fight over issues that are off topic. It's obviously beyond my control, so I'm troubled because it's ruining the reason I'm coming out to participate in this forum. I'm looking for friendly respectful chat about Trek matters that we all more or less agree on.

If it matters, Mallory/Moderator, I was quite troubled by the person who said he will "always be lurking in one way or another..either agreeing or shaking my head at the limited knowledge opinions here are based on." I did not start posting in this Forum so that I could be stalked and judged, and that is how I understand his comments. I'm cool with someone disagreeing with me or challenging my opinions, but troubled by this member's desire to ruin the civility of this forum.

Well, one can try to relax and just consider the source - it's pretty clear from context that the poster in question isn't in fact able to evaluate what most people think from a position of broader experience or superiority of any other kind, so such pretensions aren't really that big a deal - are they?

In addition, his previous comment that "I'm not going away for a long time so don't wait to collect your social security because I'm here..." is needlessly aggressive -- the person really does sound unhinged.
