Worf as Captain of the Enterprise?

I think you're confusing 'unexpected' with 'just plain dumb.'

Why is it dumb? Guinan has had many marriages. They both got along well on the Enterprise. Guinan seems like someone who is interested into guys and maybe even ladies who are unorthodox. I think she is attracked to people who see finds to be interesting and not just because she thinks they are sexy or she wants to start a family or anything like that. Worf is nothing like that so far but the fun would be showing how he has changed over time. He knows now how to relax and have fun. He knows how to have good Klingon Belly laugh now that Guinan onced talked about.

Why is it dumb?

First of all, if it’s not integral to the story, it’s not going to happen. But more importantly, do you remember how silly the Chakotay/7of9 pairing was? Do you remember why it was so silly? Because throughout the entire series of VOY, these two characters showed ZERO interest in each other. I don’t think they even interacted with each other all that much, if at all. They certainly showed no romantic interest in each other. Then all of a sudden for no reason whatsoever they are an item in the last few episodes, because, well, uh, ummm...what the hell else are they going to do with a useless character like Chakotay? What you’re describing is no different. Your reasons for them to get together are not compelling enough evidence, and sounds more like getting them together just for the sake of really bad shock value.

So, again...no.

There was even a scene between the two of them where I think she was actually flirting with Worf in a roundabout way. I can't remember which episode, but it's one I watched recently. While he was saying he would not get into a relationship with a shipmate, due to concerns for their safety, she was insisting there would be women on board who might consider him "tame". I'm sure she meant to, at least, include herself in that statement.

It might have been I, Borg. I'll have to check.

Edit: opening scene of Yesterday's Enterprise. Same scene that she introduces him to prune juice.

I was specifically thinking of that scene. Plus the one where she goes and talks to him and outshines him at target practice. Also she told his mom about how he sometimes comes and thinks about her and his human parents.

I agree for a tv show or movie. But for scene or guest spot it seems fine. Plus something that I am sure would be explored more in books and comic books.

Im sorry. I just find Worf boring. We dealt with him through eleven seasons and four movies and all of the Klingon honor stuff. I can’t get behind the concept of him being Captain of the Enterprise, even if it is just a scene. The idea of him being the Klingon Ambassador and really having clashed with Picard over the issues surrounding the Romulans, causing a rift between the two, is a far more interesting idea. At least to me.

I actually like them clashing as well. Granted though this could be where him being a Captain comes in handy. What if the Enterprise under Captain Worf was one of the ships sent to stop his group. Only Worf isn't going just let Picard go because of old times. He actually thinks Starfleet is right to want to stop him.

Worf should just be the Ambassador.

It will also depend on whether or not they are going to follow the events leading up to the STO timeline and war with the Klingons.

The options for guest appearances are pretty much unlimited really.

At this point I would say Worf and Geordi, with the potential for Harry Kim and Tom Paris, we already have Seven from Voyager which can be explained away by the presence of Borg technology, I would like to see some from DS9 with Nog RIP/Quark/Rom being my preferences but only if there is a valid story reason to include DS9 or the Ferengi, would be great to see Garak but again too but only if there is a valid reason to and its a bit iffy as Picard didnt really have much to do with them.

They have to be careful not to make it all a trip down memory lane and episode of where are they now.

Worf is fair enough if the Klingons become involved, Riker and Deanna were a foregone conclusion from the start.

I think Geordi and maybe Harry would be fair enough as Ship Captains if needed but they may prefer to introduce new ones, we may see the Enterprise E but again only if it is truly warranted and right now it isnt, we dont even know if its still operational, according to the STO timeline it is but that can be ignored completely if they want to as anything shown in the TV series would automatically supersede anything else.

It really depends on where they see this series going and any future spin off series, I will be very surprised if they dont launch at least one spin off from Picard.

Yep, totally sounds like reasons to get married.;)

But you forget the part were Guinan is kind of bored with nothing to do ever since Picard took his promotion to Admiral. She is ready to search out for some new adventure and then Worf shows up back from his Ambassador job and he talks her into staying because he just found out they want to make him Captain. First mission is a trip back to the El Aurain homeworld which nobody has been to for years. When they arrive they get into a scrape with local raiders and Worf and Guinan is kidnapped in the process. They sort of bond together even more while escaping and she decides to stay for a little longer. They become even better friends and then that changes into something more. She impresses Worf by teaching him some cool new action moves she has learned over the years. He impresses her by embracing his love for Klingon Opera and doing concerts for the crew and also his Klingon Fridays were everyone comes to work dress like their favorite Klingon. Basically he makes jokes now. Synch 9/11 happens so lots of the fun times are then over but they already love each other at this point and Worf is now assigned to chase down Picard. He does. Guian doesn't like it which puts a strain in their marriage which plays into the episode they show up in.

Captain Worf would give Michael Dorn a taste of what he wanted for a few years, to be at the center of something even if not his own show. I don't think it'll happen but I can see worse ideas than having a 59-year-old former Federation Ambassador to the Klingon Empire, Starfleet officer and war hero and veteran become the Captain of whichever Enterprise is in active service at this moment in history. He could even be the first Klingon to ever hold the rank of Captain in Starfleet.

I'm afraid it's Worf or Captain Kim. That is our only two choices. Everyone has to decide now.:)

Jason

Captain Harry Kim. But then he gets demoted five minutes after taking command and spends the rest of his time on the Enterprise as Operations officer. :shifty:

I’m sure Guinan made use of her time in other ways.
