We should thanking Marvel
We should also thank Marvel for curing smallpox, making the moon landing possible and soon brokering a lasting peace in the Middle East...

We should thanking Marvel
I think our lord and savior deserves some praises too. Lift your voice up on this Sunday morning, so that he may hear you.The most impressive thing about Wonder Woman is that it took 76 years before she finally got her first live action movie.
We should thanking Marvel for making so many successful movies that WB was forced go ahead with their DCEU in order to compete.
I doubt we would have ever gotten solo movies for Wonder Woman or Aquaman if it wasn't for the Avengers.
I thought they had great chemistry as friends, didn't feel the romance though.
For the older audience I think it might have to do with her being a well liked character that has been LONG overdue for a trip to the big screen. As much as I love Batman and Superman, the fact that they have had so many movies made about them while Wonder Woman has had none in that same forty year time span is a travesty.‘Wonder Woman’: Female and Older Moviegoers Powered Box Office, New Study Shows
Wonder Woman having a large female audience was expected, but it has also been getting older audiences and more of those people that usually don't go see movies in theaters to see it. Pretty cool!![]()
That seems pretty far away... though i guess we';; get more Wonder Woman later this year and then in what 1 or 2 years?WB has slotted two unannounced DCEU films for 2020, for February 14th and June 5th.
It's a fairly safe bet that the June one is Wonder Woman 2, to be announced in a few days at SDCC.![]()
That seems pretty far away...
I don't think that topic needed 1000 posts though.
It does, but I'd rather they do it right than do it rushed.

Gal Gadot cast as Wonder Woman In ‘Batman Vs. Superman’
Remember that old Gal is Wonder Woman announcement topic on this board?
I've been reading it, and it's been good for a laugh. Too many "she will have to bulk up for the role" comments. Christopher was supportive from the start, while there was Trekker4747 and kirk55555's absolute stubborn refusal that Gal could be Wonder Woman.
I don't think that topic needed 1000 posts though.
I vastly prefer Gal's Wondy over Cavill's mopey Superman, and Affleck's psycho branding Batman.
Cavill had the misfortune of only being directed by Synder, who doesn't understand Superman at ALL. Affleck will do better once he is outside the influence of Snyder and has Matt Reeves directing him.
It's one way to measure how well movies do at the box office. Box office enthusiasts/followers refer to that as legs. That seems like a strangely ineffective metric.
Movies that have low first weekends commonly just die and are considered failures. It's rare for them to last long enough to become a success nowadays. But that would seem to only apply to films who have large opening weekends.
It's one way to measure how well movies do at the box office. Box office enthusiasts/followers refer to that as legs.
A movie can have a huge first weekend and collapse like BvS, maybe because of bad word of mouth.
A movie can open lower but can make up for that by having strong following weekends, like what Wonder Woman is doing.
Wonder Woman had the smallest first weekend out of all the DCEU films, but she has already beaten Man of Steel, BvS, and Suicide Squad.
But the only number that counts--global box office--has Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice as the highest grossing DC film of this new film universe, with $873,260,194 as opposed to Wonder Woman's $768,876,840. Still over 100 million behind, and overtaking that is unlikely to happen.
