Wonder Woman (2017)

Here's a bigger version of the still from that article:

I have never been much of a comic book fan, but I am really looking forward to Wonder Woman. The WW1 setting, the vibe that Gal Gadot gives to the character and the fact it has very little to do with BvS (other than sharing a universe) gives me hopes this movie will be successful. So far Patty Jenkins has managed to create an incredibly visual world that just sucks me in. Last box to tick is Robin Wright needs to kick ass.

^^
Tempted to read, but I think I'll start avoiding too spoilery descriptions from now on :)

I am really looking forward to this.
But I am conscientiously avoiding spoilers. Hopefully there won't be any spoiler-ish trailers that give away secrets like what happened with Star Trek: Beyond.

There will probably be only one more trailer, and I should hope the DCEU marketing team has learned not to reveal too much from the "Doomsday trailer" reaction ;)

The clip doesn't really reveal any big plot points, it's just a nice example of how the movie is approaching the WWI aspects and Diana's attitude.

They did? I don't recall.

Overheard at a recent DC films strategy meeting: "Help us Wonder Woman - you're our only hope."

Oh please. I've been more happy with DC Comics on both film and television than I have with Marvel in the past year or so.

IGN has a new interview up with Patty Jenkins which does address some of the issues we've been discussing here.
The scene they describe already sounds like a perfect Wonder Woman moment, and potentially the best superhero scene we've gotten in a DCEU movie so far.

Ok, I really liked that interview, and especially how she views Wonder Woman. She is definitely coming at her movie from a completely different place then Zach Snyder comes from, and that's great. I've been hopeful for this movie, and this interview makes me even more hopeful.

I really think that WW has the potential to turn the DCEU around, not by making it the MCU but by being a good movie that hopefully shows that Snyder's darkness and anti-heroes aren't what the DCEU has to be. I think at this point that Wonder Woman is my most anticipated superhero film of the year, and I didn't think I'd be saying that about a DC film again after sitting through Snyder's stuff.

Sort of new International Trailer. I think there are a few new bits of footage but not a lot:

Certain critics' concern is not so much about the costume, but Gadot's model looks. For this faction of the whiners, they would only be happy if someone in the zone of Amy Schumer won the WW role.

Gadot has been a soldier and a combat trainer in the IDF. She also put on a significant amount of muscle for the Wonder Woman role. She could easily kick those critics' collective butts into next Thursday night.

To be fair, being able to kick a critic's butt doesn't mean much or act as a qualification for looking like a superhero or not. but, honestly I don't mind at this point. She's still not my favorite casting choice for the role, but I think she'll be fine. The movie is looking and sounding good so far, and based off what we've seen so far she's fairly convincing in action as WW.

I do have to say that, despite the flaws of the DCEU movies, I find them rather more interesting than many of the recent MCU feature films.
