Wolf in the Fold

Chekov got a couple women on the show that were half decent. The total may have even been as high as 3, I don't remember, though ...

Now way, dude ... where'd you get that idea? I'm as straight as a goddamn arrow! And I love how Chekov was shitting a gold brick -- one of the few times a comedic approach actually worked for the character. Tamoon was the first transsexual character in STAR TREK, though, which I guess gives liberal trekkies and whatnot something to boast about.

In any event, I was talking about the character. Voiced by a Man, even.

It's evident, is it not?
Not really. I mean. From what I've just read on Memory Alpha she is "deep-voiced", but we don't know her species, let alone what passes as cis for her people. I'm also not sure about her bbeing voiced by a man; Memory Alpha does only list Jane Ross and the credits of the episode don't seem to have a "Voice of Tamoon" entry. I've never seen (or rather heard) Jane Ross in anything other than this episode, so I don't know for sure if that is her regular voice or if she's good at lowering it, or even if there's an uncredited male voice actor.

Whatever gets you through the night, I was just answering a question about a character as I saw it. That's really the extent of my interest in the subject.

Transsexual?

Why?

A man who is attracted to a trans woman is straight, because she’s a woman and looks and sounds like a woman. Implying otherwise is just incorrect and deeply offensive.

Okay folks we’re way off the rails here. Let’s bring it back.

And this...

... plus your other posts are deeply offensive. Drop that crap immediately or you’ll get a trolling warning.

I expect to hear no more of this.

Carry on.

Hengist was an Anglo-Saxon king who was invited to Britain by King Vortigern to aid him in fighting the Picts. He then turned of Vortigern and helped push the Britons out of Britain setting the stage for it's transformation into England. That's probably what MAGolding was referring to.

Yes, Hengist was, according to legend, a shifty Jute who thought he knew all the Angles and was hired by the Romano-Britons to protect them from invading Picts, but treacherously turned on his employers and invaded Britain himself in an attempt to take over with treachery after treachery and massacre after massacre..

Therefore the name of Mr. Hengist in "Wolf in the Fold" always seemed very appropriate to me. And I noticed that Gildas, in The Ruin of Britain, which includes the first historical account of the Saxon invasions, does mention the Picts attacking like "wolves in the fold".
