Chekov got a couple women on the show that were half decent. The total may have even been as high as 3, I don't remember, though ...
Where did you get that idea from?Tamoon was the first transsexual character in STAR TREK
It's evident, is it not?
Only to a blind jackass, apparently. Jane RossIt's evident, is it not?
Not really. I mean. From what I've just read on Memory Alpha she is "deep-voiced", but we don't know her species, let alone what passes as cis for her people. I'm also not sure about her bbeing voiced by a man; Memory Alpha does only list Jane Ross and the credits of the episode don't seem to have a "Voice of Tamoon" entry. I've never seen (or rather heard) Jane Ross in anything other than this episode, so I don't know for sure if that is her regular voice or if she's good at lowering it, or even if there's an uncredited male voice actor. It's evident, is it not?
Now way, dude ... where'd you get that idea? I'm as straight as a goddamn arrow! And I love how Chekov was shitting a gold brick -- one of the few times a comedic approach actually worked for the character. Tamoon was the first transsexual character in STAR TREK, though, which I guess gives liberal trekkies and whatnot something to boast about.
A man who is attracted to a trans woman is straight, because she’s a woman and looks and sounds like a woman. Implying otherwise is just incorrect and deeply offensive. Now way, dude ... where'd you get that idea? I'm as straight as a goddamn arrow! If only that disinterest in commenting kicked in before you make your classless posts, so much trouble could be averted.Whatever gets you through the night, I was just answering a question about a character as I saw it. That's really the extent of my interest in the subject.
The actor is a woman. It's really her voice. It's a female character through and through. I never thought otherwise. Sheesh.I never, not once, believed that Tamoon was voiced by anyone other than the actress who played her, Jane Ross, and in the absence of actual evidence to the contrary, there's literally no reason to suppose otherwise.

Hengist was an Anglo-Saxon king who was invited to Britain by King Vortigern to aid him in fighting the Picts. He then turned of Vortigern and helped push the Britons out of Britain setting the stage for it's transformation into England. That's probably what MAGolding was referring to.
