Kirk crouches down by Spock under the life-support station.

KIRK: Spock.

Spock: Normal environmental levels have been restored, Captain, but it will not last long. A few hours at most.

 

[Enterprise1981]

KIRK: That should be enough time. Let's get at it.

 

[Orac]

Sulu: What's going on, Captain?

 

[LeadHead]

Kirk: Never mind, Mister Sulu.

A nurse enters

Kirk: Tranquilizer?

 

[Orac]

Nurse: Yes, sir.

 

[LeadHead]

Kirk: Everyone and then yourself.

And despite that order, somehow you should know not to inject me or Mister Spock.

 

[Enterprise1981]

NURSE: Yes, sir.

 

[LeadHead]

Voice: You cannot stop me now, Captain. It will do you no good. I control all circuits. You cannot silence me. You cannot reach me. Your manual overrides are limited in life!

 

[Orac]

Kirk: Spock?

 

[Enterprise1981]

SPOCK: Proceeding, Captain, but I will need some time.

 

[LeadHead]

Kirk: Yes, I know.

 

[Enterprise1981]

REDJAC: Soon all control will be restored to me! There is nothing you can do to prevent it!

 

[Orac]

Kirk: If you destroy this ship, you destroy yourself.

 

[Enterprise1981]

REDJAC: I am without ending. I have existed from the dawn of time, and I shall I live beyond its end! In the meantime, I shall feed, and this time I do not need a knife. You will all die horribly in searing pain!

 

[Orac]

Spock: It is attempting to generate terror, Captain.

 

[Athena28]

HENGIST: I can cut off your oxygen and suffocate you!

 

[LeadHead]

Sulu: Captain-

Sulu is interrupted by his injection, he immediately smiles.

Sulu: ...whoever he is, he sure sounds gloomy...

 

[Enterprise1981]

KIRK: Man your post, Mister. If any of the other systems go out, switch to manual override, and above all, don't be afraid.
