(Jaris returns and crosses to another doorway.)

Jaris: Are you ready, Sybo?

Kirk: The knife? No.

 

[Athena28]

^JARIS: Certainly. Among other gifts, Sybo has the ability to receive impressions from inanimate objects. Do you have it, Captain?

JARIS: But I put it here when we arrived. It's gone.

Karen Tracy is lying face down on the floor, and Scott is slumped unconscious in a chair.

KIRK: Scotty.

 

[Orac]

Bones: She's dead, Jim. Just like the other one.

Kirk: Stabbed, over and over again.

[Jaris' home]

JARIS: (to Scotty) Drink this. An Argelian stimulant, Doctor. Quite effective and quite harmless.

 

[Orac]

Bones: Go ahead, Scotty.

 

[Enterprise1981]

SCOTT: Lieutenant? Captain? Where's...?

 

[Orac]

Kirk: Lieutenant Tracy is dead, Scott. You were found alone in the room.

 

[Enterprise1981]

SCOTT: Dead? But I...

 

[Orac]

Kirk: What happened down there?

 

[Enterprise1981]

SCOTTY: I was sitting there. She was taking her readings, and now I'm sitting here.
