Windows already comes with a sound recorder that will allow you to record any sound that plays through the speakers. It's buried pretty deep, so most people never notice it, but if you just search all files and folers for "sound recorder" it'll pop up.You could get a free program like Audacity which you can record anything playing threw the sound card. You'll probably have to make some adjustments, like the sampling qaulity, turning off the mic so there is no hiss from the speakers, and maybe some other small adjustments. I use it.

I just tested it myself to be sure... works fine. Put the file in the playlist, right click... select convert. Are you sure? The website doesn't say a single thing about supporting WMV.
^^^ Having to actually play the video to get the audio out of it is unnecessarily complicated. Just get a program that instantly extracts the audio from the video file. I use Free Video to MP3 Converter. It's very quick and easy to use.
The free Super© is what I swear by for almost ALL of my re-encoding.
Thank you.
Oh, I don't know. I've never used it to record anything longer than a short clip from some old b-movie to use as a sample in a song.Windows already comes with a sound recorder that will allow you to record any sound that plays through the speakers. Yeah, but it's pretty crummy in comparrison to the things and settings something like Audacity has. Anyway, last I checked, didn't WSR have a recording length limit?
You didn't use Format Factory. But it only converted about 4 seconds of it?
what did I do wrong?
I will try that one.^^ It has a limit of one minute.
