Will there be a serious focus on scientific research in just about every field of study from space to medicine?
Not for nothing, but are you fucking kidding? We're in the middle of the worst economic crisis since 1929 and you're worried about that? I can't stand Obama but his focus is exactly where it should be.
Also, it ain't government's fucking job to focus on scientific research. It's the job of the private sector.

Geez! I just asked a question. No need to snap. Might I suggest decaf?
Interesting OP. Waste of a good thread on whining and ranting.

Good point!
Blockaderunner, under Obama's benevolent leadership we'll engage in a new era of mutual hand-holding, skipping through Green Again meadows, and funding new initiatives in science. War will end, hunger will be sated, and money will be equally distributed to all so no one is left wanting anything anyone else has. We'll make big government even bigger, but that's okay, because it's in the RIGHT hands now, and certainly no one in Obama's administration will abuse that kind of power. After all, Government is where the ultimate answers in money, fairness, and even science lie.
[sighs with a starry-eyed gaze off into the distance while contemplating the possibilities]
Hope. Change. Obama will show us the way.
Really.
Even though his appointments are starting to look same-old, same-old, change is coming! Even though he wants to fund more programs and regulate industry more in the middle of a disintegrating economy, Obama brings hope.
