WIP - USS Venture Star

Just remembered this...

STXI_Shuttle_WIP_003.jpg

It'll go along with this ship, just fine. :)

Thanks, everyone else :)

Starship: I was just trying to do something different with that deflector dish, but I am going to push it back farther into the hull. I know it looks a little odd, jutting out like that. :)

Yes, please!

It looks like it's sticking its tongue out at the universe... or something worse!

Cheers,
-CM-

Oh, okay. May I suggest losing the think below then? It looks a little... off. I might also suggest borrowing the shape of 'undercut' the Excelsior's impulse engine for how it curves into the neck for a more smooth shape?
I was avoiding the undercut. :) The way it sits on the neck, it's almost flush.

I have some more ideas about that area, though. :)

Here's something that I was messing with. The guys said it was a big ship, but I may have went too big. :)

Here it is in relation to the Enterprise... Notice the Deflector Dishes and the Bridges are the same size.

These will make nice images when it's all done. :)
:D WOW! dude keep it up! that's amazing work:techman: And if you don't mind some advice, keep the size of the Venture Star where it is.:techman: I like these BIG ships.

A progress report....

I'm probably 85% done. I'm trying to decide if I want to build windows the way I normally do, or actually cut them out.

The dish is pushed back quite a lot, and looks good, I think.

WOW! J.J should hire you to design the NU Excelsior! I would:techman:!

Thanks, man. :)

Got windows... Not all of these will be turned on when I'm done, of course. :)

Oh, forgot this one. I added more detail to the Nacelle.

There is so much to like about this. All the shapes seem to flow so nicely together. It looks so strong and powerful. Just what i had in my minds eye when i showed you our lil line drawings.

This came together so quickly, I am surprised. This doesn't happen often. I was in a rut, as far as 3D creativity goes, until I started on this ship.

I hope everyone likes it...

Some facts about this thing... It's huge, obviously. It's also heavily armed... up front, it has two torpedo decks, and it has 10 phaser banks. 9 on the saucer, and 1 on the very back end.

It also has 2 giant shuttle bays, with a large compliment of shuttles. How many shuttles did the Enterprise carry? I would guess this one has twice as many.

:)

She's beautiful, Madman. A worthy successor to the original Big E. The shapes do flow nicely together. I particularly like the rear nacelle caps.

I can't wait to see textures. :D

Yay! Well done and i shall sing your praises from here to the ends of the earth.
We finally have our Hero ship for our lil group! :D

Beautiful work of course. Just one minor quibble. Those windows on the engineering hull seem awefully close together in relation to each other for a very long distance. It reminds me of rows of balcony cabins on a cruise ship.

Thanks.

They are spaced out exactly the same as the saucer, since I used the same parts to cut them out. :)

I promise they will look better when I darken some of them.
