Will You Buy a Command Chair?

It all depends on what/who I get to command. I try to command my cats, but they just look at me with their "Oh, come on, Mom -- you know who is really in charge here, and it's not you!" expressions.

If I could command it to fire phasers at my neighbors, that'd be nice. And photon torpedoes at anybody else who comes around uninvited.

:vulcan:
True, that...

Of course if they through in a working Power Ring and Battery, a Time Traveling Flying Delorian that runs on trash, and a Tantulus Device ... now we're talking! :)
Ooh, Tantalus Device! That would be even better -- no mess to clean up afterward and no evidence for the cops!

For Picard's chair, I might be tempted. I'll leave the Kirk chairs to y'all.
Okay, now I'm imagining Darth Tater in a sombrero, sitting in Picard's Captain's Chair... :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

Nah, no thanks, I'll keep my thousand bucks. Really don't see the point to it, to be honest; and just because it's Kirk's chair isn't reason enough, to me.

Frontier, don't hotlink an image to a site you don't own without permission. You've been here long enough to know better (plus, there's an announcement about it reminding everyone).

My wife would never let me do it. I certainly see her point; $1000 can buy a lot of other useful things (or go towards paying off some debt), but damn, an actual command chair! When I was a kid I used to put a chair in front of the TV and pretend I was Captain Kirk and the TV was the viewscreen, and now for just 1000 clams I can park an actual command chair in front of the TV and pretend I'm Captain Kirk! Of course, this would be extremely lame, since I'm no longer 6 years old, but I almost don't care.

Took the words right out of my mouth! Same here!

Of course, if I could command the chair itself to do something useful, like the vacuuming or the dishes, that would be even better.

Otherwise, I can't see spending all that money. :vulcan:

When my boat is out of the water and on the trailer in my back yard, I sit in the captain's seat and drink scotch and shout orders to nobody.."Damn the torpedoes." "Brace for impact!".."Hoist the mismmast!" etc...

Sci-Fi Wire is reporting the chair is going to cost about $2,000. I'm not sure if they said it will be available around X-Mas of this year, or of next year.

I don't care. I must have one.

I got stiffed at the Christie's Auction. I got stiffed at It's a Wrap. I've not been able to go to any great conventions of late. I'm getting the damned chair! I don't care how much!

If they made it between 500-750. I could see getting one for a Computer chair. I sit in my computer chair similar to how Kirk sat when he wasnt relaxing. Kinda on the edge. So I could see it being a pretty cool computer chair. Im suprised no one mentioned using it as one.

It looks really big to me, and not worth 2 Gs.

I would prefer Picard's famous captain's chair anyway, but I grew up with TNG, not TOS.

Me too! Want to go half with me?

We'll keep it at my house of course......
Ten years or so of Archie Bunker on TV, and you wanna' sit in MY chair? *grin*

Oh, Okay, you buy Archie's chair, I'll get Jim's.

Please explain why I now have that look Archie Bunker had (seemingly) at the end of every episode when his viewpoints/attitudes/comments backfired? *grin* (read: I went wrong somewhere here... hmmm/*grin*)

Don't feel too bad. It's been at least thirty years since I watched All in the Family, so I probably missed the reference (whatever it was).

But I still want Kirk's chair before Archie's.

In context: Archie was very protective of his chair and wouldn't let anybody sit in it. Ergo, We can go halves, but it'll need to be at my house and you can't sit in it! As for the look on his face, as you recall he was a bigot who spouted that sort of thing and mangled words badly. So by the end of most every episode, his words would come back to bite him in the arse, and thus the look on his face of being had. So my reference to that show has come back to bite me in the arse and thus I got the same look (albeit for very different reasons).
