You bet I will. I even saw Nemesis in the theatre...twice
Now that's commitment. I was going to see NEM in the theater a second time only so I could try to convince myself it wasn't as bad as I thought it was with a second viewing. Then I thought better of it because no time in my life have I ever seen a movie that I knew sucked the first time only to have changed my mind after seeing it a second time.

Part two of my unscientific polling to see where the majority stands.

It doesn't matter if you'll be watching it the midnight before opening night, opening day/night, the day/night after or the week after. Just that you'll be watching it in the theatre during its run. No explanation needed, as before, but more than welcome to post. :)
You need more choices...

For instance, I'm not gonna pay "full price" to see it. I'll catch a matinée.

Some folks might wait 'til it hits the "dollar theater."

Some will be lined up the first night... camped out on the steps... arguing about whether or not Darth Nero could kick Nurse Jar-Jar's ass...

Some will wait a few days 'til the reviews are out and THEN decide.

Yes or No.
It's not that hard.
Come on even you could keep a post under two sentences.

You're far too grumpy to go see this movie, lad. They won't let you in the theater. :bolian:

NEMESIS has been---to date---the only TREK movie I haven't seen in its original theatrical run. I balked and balked when I heard all the bad reviews and disappointment back at this time six years ago, and by the time I got ready to go to a local cineplex still showing it the movie had already been pulled.

The poll is currently running about 88 percent in favor of seeing the movie in the theatre.

This is consistent with previous polls here which find about 75-80 percent favorable reactions to the movie, with 10-15 percent skeptical and only about 10 percent really determinedly negative.

We see that determinedly negative group reflected in this case as the folks who say they won't go out to see the movie.

Losing ten percent of the fan base, at this point, certainly isn't going to make or break this movie - one hundred percent of the fan base could show up for it twice and if a whole lot of other folks don't it's doomed.

After today's image of Leonard Nimoy as Spock, how could any true Star Trek fan not want to see this film?

Yes. I think I've seen every movie but TMP in theaters, although I would've been rather young for TWOK so I wonder if the ear insects scarred me as a child.

You have to figure in that the haters who intend to rip every second of this movie will be first in line just so they can tell everyone else how right they were.

A true Trek fan would cheer this movie on whether they have ill conceived notions of it or not. Only after the movie is released should they judge it.

of course I will be watching it in the theater. Where else are they releasing it, football stadiums?

BTW...love the "old Carl Spock" avatar, buddy! :guffaw:

Carl Spock must get high on a temporal bong, travel back over 100 years and keep the narc Romulans from making his younger self from getting off the herb!
