Will we get a new series with a major DS9 or Enterprise legacy?

So we have Picard and LDS which both heavily rely on TNG.
Picard's use of Seven of Nine and Prodigy with Janeway extend the legacy of Voyager.
Discovery started in the just-pre-TOS era, and SNW will have Spock, so TOS is covered.
But outside of some name drops and one quick view of DS9 in LDS, there hasn't been any big connections to either Enterprise or DS9.

Given Kurtzman's extended development timeline (through 2027), and his stated desire to provide a wide variety of stories and approaches, is there room for series that build off of DS9 or ENT? Where is Star Trek: Birth of the Federation? Or Star Trek: Fallout (from the Dominion War)?

Ira Steven Behr is around, still involved in Trek stuff (DS9 docu) and likely interested, Many Coto is writing/creating/producing, and the casts are still around (except for a couple of extremely sad losses ).

So what do you think the odds are of at least one DS9 or ENT legacy series?

I'd say about 60%, just off the top of my head.

DS9 and ENT are my favourite series in the franchise, so over the next 7 years I certainly hope we get a legacy character from each do return appearances. In a way that adds to whichever characters it might be, and fits the style of CBS All Access Trek chosen.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they did a series that’s “based on” (meaning: using one or more main characters) from DS9. When it comes to ENT I’m not so sure, but DS9 seems like a given to me.

I'd wish, but I doubt it (both). Maybe in a cartoon format like 'Lower Decks', but not as a live action series. I think, both series aren't 'cool' enough and either too much 'hardcore fan stuff' or too controversial. In case of DS9, I'm not even sure, if the DSC authors really know something about it except of some 'words' they've heard (like Section 31).

Honestly, DS9 is great and doesn't need the follow up. Just let it rest.

With ENT, well I had my follow up in ST 09 but I guess we can have more...

Yeah, Beyond also had some nice references for ENT.

I agree that DS9 doesn't need the follow-up. It was probably the least interfered with Trek show, allowing the creatives to bring their best vision to the screen. But I would still like to see some follow on. The hypothetical season 8 opener that Behr and crew crafted was very interesting to me. I would like to see it animated, if not live action. Ironically their short story point with Captain Nog could honor the actor and be a tribute to his passing.

But, whatever they produce will, in my humble opinion, not satisfy whatever we can imagine. I know they had ideas, but how those will come to screen will be much different.

DS9 and ENT are my two favourite Star Trek shows. I do hope for a follow up to Enterprise, a birth of the Federation kind of show in the style of The West Wing with a lot of political intrige and at least a few guest appearances from Admiral Archer and a few of the other crew members from Enterprise... Make it so Kurtzman!

Already happened. Seven of Nine was on Picard, and Quark is referenced as well. As for Bashir -- pretend he visited the library on Sarpeidon, where Atoz pushed him through the Atavacron and he ended up living out his life in Dorne.

I kind of hope they don't touch very much of DS9. I feel like I stand a pretty good chance of being disappointed. But who knows?

I really hope not. It's pretty obvious that they're relying on nostalgia as a crutch, pulling in as many characters as they can to entice viewers. They should just go ahead and make something that can stand on its own merit.

DS9 closed up well and most of the characters went their separate ways. I don't see where they could go, unless they want to have a season of Picard or Lower Decks based around DS9.

I very much doubt we'll see a new series build on DS9 and ENT. Fans may not like it, but I get a sense that TPB regard those shows as over and done. That doesn't mean that those shows and their characters won't be referenced in future productions, but their storylines may be considered closed.
