I gotta say. I hate the weapon sounds of the Klingons and Discovery. Those silly pewpewpewsrauriaruispewpepwepwew noises. They lack all punch.

They sound like space farts. Seriously missing the pewpew sounds from the Kelvin movies.

The only real question here is, should TOS be considered Prime when it's so badly at odds with all of Star Trek?

TOS is confirmed by TNG, DS9 and at least 7 movies so wherever they go it goes.

Especially when you consider some of the punchy sound effects Klingon weapons have had over the years

TOS is confirmed by TNG, DS9 and at least 7 movies so wherever they go it goes.

Indeed. Enterprise, DS9 and TNG all have very specific depictions of TOS as being visually the way that era looked. DS9 in particular get's pretty nitty gritty with the accuracy, and even discussing some of the differences of "that" era versus their own.
