Will Trek XI have any Dick in it?

I dunno, but as this trend continues I'm sure that it won't be long before one of these topics has "Tits!" in it...just before the CLANG! ;)

Last we heard, Shatner's not in it!

Although, as T.J. Hooker, P.I., I could buy it... Frozen along with some of the genetic supermen during Khan's time, T.J. Hooker, now retired and working as a private investigator In Search Of Khan... ends up captive in Australia. He isn't put on the Botany Bay, but on a second ship, the Zoology Zoo.

And of course, Captain Pike will discover this vessel during Star Trek XI.

As they awaken the various frozen corpsicles, one, our lamented T. J. Hooker awakes to the question, who are you. "I'm a dick, searching for Khan. Oh. It was... fun. Oh my."

If Andy Dick doesn't have a cameo, I will swear at the screen, thow my popcorn at everyone who doesn't storm out of the theatre with me and go online to chronicle my discontent for all to see on the interwebs.

I don't think it should. Dick's emphasis on cynical dystopias, depressive workaday protagonists, and subjective yet valid drug-induced realities would clash badly with Trek's technological optimism, classical humanism, and unironic use of military adventure/colonial exploration motifs.

OTOH, Dick was the first person to imagine Trek's future as a brand/franchise, in his short story "The Electric Ant."

Seriously - his characters in the 1969 story refer to sf genre entertainment on television (or whatever) as "captainkirks."

A phrase repeated in "Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said", when a 'captain kirk' is apparently genre of film.

Yep. How prescient is that, for him to imagine that this one TV show that was struggling to stay on the air was going to subsume an entire genre in popular culture?

Dude had one weird head. And I don't say that just by way of bringing us back onto the topic of Dick.

You see what happens, Samuel T. Cogley?

People enjoying themselves and having fun in an online community. Star Trek fans killing time in a silly -- yet still Star Trek related -- way between leaks about Star Trek XI.

"My God, Bones, what have I done?" :(

^ You were supposed to bring peace to the Federation, not destroy it! We thought you believed in books, not technology?!?

Huge fan of P.K. Dick. I could only imagine what kind of Trek tale he could have written.

And um...

/PENIS!
