Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?.....

Re: Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?...

I doubt it. But then again, it might. I've read of cases of scenes being filmed for the trailers winding up in the movie (case in point: A single shot in FOTR that shows the entire Fellowship walking by, a rarity in the film and made for trailer purpose, was inserted into the film).

I think the scene was made specifically for the trailer. Like that scene in the Godzilla teaser trailer where Godzilla's foot destroys a T-Rex.

It's an artistic metaphor, people. That'd be like interpreting the title sequence of Goldeneye as literal; as much as I'd like to imagine, I'm pretty sure hot scantily clad babes didn't singlehandedly dismantle the Iron Curtain.

BEST.

POST.

EVER.

Re: Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?...

We've been lead to believe by sources that the footage seen in the trailer was shot specifically for the teaser.

Re: Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?...

^ I know that & You know that, but the way people are screeming "Canon Violation" 'round here you'd think they actually believe the teaser IS part of the final film.

Re: Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?...

That's just footage of set construction: the $100 million full-sized filming model of the Enterprise.

But that'd be one heck of a sequence, having Leonard Nimoy and Eric Bana duking it out on the incomplete hull of the Enterprise.

Only if it was done in the same style as the fight scene in "They Live."

It would've been glorious if they had. :D

Re: Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?...

Why can't it be both ??

It's clearly a metaphor as many have said but that doesn't mean it can't be part of the movie as well.

I for one hope we get to see construction scenes of the Enterprise.

Re: Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?...

I remember teaser Terminator 2. It showed T-800 being built.

Re: Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?...

Let's see... they've cast young actors (who aren't far off being the same age) as father and son. I don't see any reason why George Kirk could'nt have either overseen the construction or been at the ship's launch. Heck, he might even be Admiral Archer's carer for all we know!

Re: Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?...

If it is you can bet it wont be in the same fashion as the teaser...but at the end of the day gonna have to wait untill we see something similar in a following teaser/trailer, photos for the film or when you see it at the cinema.

If it is in Im guessing its going to be in space, the shots in the teaser overly feel like they are there for the "under construction" caption....been said before (better) by others here

The best part is that it violates nothing.

As far as this footage being in the film, it may happen in sort of a cameo fashion. IIRC, the sequence on Mars that Michael Bay shot for Transformers was supposed to be trailer-only, but showed up briefly in the film as video footage.

Y'know that sort of thing.

Not that I'm advocating Michael Bay in any way shape or form. The guy is slow.

No, he clearly has ADHD. Haven't you been watching his movies?

Re: Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?...

if it does,it won't violate anything seen on film or on screen..heck, it could be INSIDE some form of Spacedock..there's nothing that seems to suggest the Big E is actually being built on Earth..

Re: Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?...

Turns out the entire movie is just the ship being built. Abrams is setting us up for an epic series of dozens of films. Episode One: Starfleet Takes Delivery. Kirk and crew appear only in the last two minutes of the film.

Re: Will the shipbulding scene actually BE in the movie?...

The next teaser trailer will only consist of the shaving of the two Spocks' eyebrows!

And footage of the blond Aussie surfer, playing Kirk's Dad, as he cavorts in Malibu on his days off.

Something else people don't realize... those capes and trenchcoats are the new uniforms!
