Will the new enterprise be larger than the TOS?

Comparison-1.jpg
Hey madman, can you make the ''NU-ENTERPRISE'' just a little bigger? I noticed the windows are much smaller on the ''NU-E'' then they are on TOS-E! Maybe if you can match both ships up by the size of there windows we'll be closer to the real size of this ship? Am I makeing since ''or'' just rambaling on?
Well, the windows on my TOS E are over sized. When I built it, I made them much too big. :)

This side-by-side comparison just rocks. I have to confess I like the new Enterprise more now that pics like this are cropping up to show accurate proportion ratios and the like. My dislike for the new design is fading now that we're just seven weeks from the release date and the reality of it all is settling in. Besides, I went ga-ga seeing a brief snippet or two of this ship in the CLOVERFIELD teaser a year ago...why not be happier seeing more of her?

Even though I do like the TOS Enterprise, in that image she looks like she is about to tip over...

Which ENT is about to tip over? TOS Version ''or'' TNU version? If it's the ''NU'' I think it's due to madman makeing the nacelles too long( No offence MM I'm a big fan;))

So there appear to be dimensional differences rather than scale differences. Good. :)

I hope they give us a larger and more powerful version of this Enterprise design...

Isn't that basically the same K'tinga-CG-model that was used on VOY?
I was a bit disappointed that they decided to use the D-7 instead of John Eaves' fantastic retro-design:

Not to mention they even made a 3D model of it for the show, but the producers decided to ditch it last minute because they "wanted more windows".

I had no idea they actually built the model and then ditched it for the damn K'tinga, which I might add the 'Voyager' episode called a D7 so in that regard it wasn't even 'right' then.

I felt cheated then. Now I feel super-cheated.

The linked image of the built but unused model calls it a D4.

Is it wrong that I like it a little more than the D7?

The TOS-Enterprise. The interconnecting-hull gets so small at the connection point with the secondary hull that she seems too top-heavy/the saucer to big for the neck... and the pylons really do look spindly compared to the new Enterprise...

I think the torpedo tubes could be more integrated like in the TMP design. On the new ship, the launcher is just sort of randomly tacked on. Considering all the arty swirly hull wrinkles in the neck, they really could've made it look more like a part of the hull.

As for the size, I think it'll be bigger, but have about the same number of decks. After all, Voyager's 15 decks are deeper than the FJ ENT's 24 decks. Since each deck on Voyager is about 15 feet thick, and each FJ deck is more like 8.5 feet. As for window size, look at the ENT-D and the VGR windows. The ENT-D windows are like 5 times bigger. It's not really a fool-proof way to tell anything.

Aahhhh...

Thanks...

IMHO, It certainly would have been a much wiser choice to have used it on ENTERPRISE, than..., "...wanting more window's..."
(Even though I really liked that series, They really missed-the-boat on more occasion's than I'd like to admit)

I like both versions of the Klingon ship's for the time periods they are meant to be in.

I and other fans have sort of non-canonical dubbed the K'tinga rehash in "Unexpected(ENT)" the D-6 cruiser. It's not meant to be a classic D-7 or a more futuristic K'tinga but the model was reused lazily before anyone could really do anything about it. So in the lore of some fans such as myself this cruiser is the D-6, the intermediate point between the D-5 seen on the prequel show and mentioned in TAS and DS9 and the D-7 of the original series both classic and Remastered.

I know it's not canon, but that is a D-6.

You got to admitt, it's a BEAUTFUL piece of work! But what I want to know is...If this ''CG-MODEL'' was alredy finished, then why the hell would they reuse the blasted KA'TINGA Class? A good ''Century and a half'' before it was supposed to be made?

Nice!

That'd make a killer Klingon ship in a computer game! Cruisers like that should have been in some of the more recent console and PC games in the franchise.
