Will the Enterprise saves the day in the last episode of this season?

Starship

Captain
Captain
Looks like we won't see a "Captain Pike" show, also, looks like Pike, Spock, number oneo and Enterprise won't come back for the next season. So, having the Enterprise and it's crew saving the day in the last minute, would be a great goodbye.
What do you think?

I'm expecting a remake of the ST'09 cavalry scene, where they jump out of warp, phasers blazing to save the day.
I love that scene.
I really hope they come in with the legit phaser beams and not the burst fire we're so used to seeing with the Discovery ships.
Imagine if it flies in and starts sweeping beams around using the old school phaser sound effect...

It's been reported by someone with inside information that...

... the Enterprise will play a role in "the last few episodes" of the season. So, it's not just going to appear in the finale. In fact, tonight's episode is 10 of 14. I wouldn't be surprised to see it return next week, or even at the end of The Red Angel.

My guess is the Enterprise will come in phasers blazing to back up Discovery during a battle later this season.

I reckon the reason that we haven't seen Discovery get into any battles yet this season is going to be a good one, and we might get some extra surprises like some upgraded TOS-Style phaser banks.

Great thread topic and I do sure hope so.
One of THE main characters in Star Wars is the Force.
When this is overlooked it's not what Star Wars is.

And why you shouldn't blow it up all the time and then make a new one.
I can't wait to see what it does.

Yeah, as faithful to the original phaser designs as the series has been the blaster-style bolts and no solid beams never looks right. Adjusting the controls every once in a while to fire a concentrated bolt instead of a beam would be fine but all we get are the pulse-like bolts when a character fires an otherwise-accurate mid-23rd century hand phaser.

I'd absolutely love to see a blue, screeching beam of energy come out of a DSC phaser.

So would I. I wonder if there's a practical/production reason as opposed to an aesthetic reason for using bolts instead of beams. Like are the bolts easier to animate and track to the actors movements?

I'd also like the Ships to use beam weapons again. Bring on some screeching blue TOS phaser beams to go with those TOS sounding photon torpedoes

The USS Enterprise will be in at least episodes 13 and 14.

We'll see Number One there.

The U.S.S. Discovery will be abandoned (hence Calypso?)

L'rell wil also appear at least one more time this season.

ok

There were also pulse phasers in TOS.

They were not rapid fire bursts like DSC and Wrath of Khan, but they happened.

I don't think Discovery is going to be abandoned.
