Will SFA Season 2 Actually Air?

Curiously, both the WGA directory and IMDb still only list nine (!) episodes for season two and I’m starting to wonder if earlier reports of a ten-episode season were misinformed and we are indeed only getting nine. I can only find secondary sources for season two having ten episodes, but nothing official from Paramount or the producers. Although it would be kinda weird to have the finale written by Kirsten Beyer alone and not by Kurtzman, Landau or Violo. I guess we’ll see.

2-hour premieres/episodes are usually billed with two production codes. Encounter at Farpoint was 101 and 102 for TNG.

I agree, but look at Star Trek Deep Space Nine's Way of the Warrior or Voyager's Dark Frontier on IMDB. That is nowhere to be seen that it has 2 production codes (they had), they appear as one episode. And let's not forget, usually IMDB details become complete after the episode aired. I would not read too much into this yet. We might get a double parter, this might be just a simple error (IMDB can be edited by fans, who knows ...).

It's clearly billed as production number 40514-473/474, indicating two separate budgets and schedules.

And with Dark Frontier, it was written as two separate scripts, which is what they ended up doing with Endgame, too:

Well theyll be second year cadets so they might get more time in space. But I also hear they are upping the romance between the cadets. So that will take up a lot of story unfortunately. Romance stuff has never been good for trek in my opinion.

Romance between the main characters. Its cringey much of the time. There are a few I can tolerate. But not many.

I generally hate romance and it isn't Star Trek's strong suit but SFA put forward some of the best efforts. Tom and B'Elanna were good too.
