Will SFA Season 2 Actually Air?

You know im a canon hound. Particularly about trek. Especially visual canon. It needs to make sense to me I might have even given the show a bit more chance but the stories thenselves were not good on mu opinion. I wanted to see an actual academy show about how stsrfleet prepares their people. I dont believe we got that. I might have given it more leeway if they placed it in the later 25th century as well. The show just doesn't seem like it's near 800 years past picard. Im just protective of trek. I've been watching it forever and when things veer off too much I get turned off. But no im not spiteful. It is what it is. Im glad some love it. But I have my issues with it. I just cant get past my issues. Im sorry.
“I’m glad some love it. But I don’t think they should get the second season that’s already done.” Can’t you see how that sounds?

Whatever one’s personal reasons for engaging with this show, this show desperately needs it.
It does? Why? The show being cancelled seems pretty definitive to me.

What about the franchise itself? If SFA and SNW were to somehow rebound in their numbers, while it may not save those shows, it might make TPTB re-evaluate whatever plans they have for the franchise.
I doubt it. The emphasis has already been stated to be films.

Whatever SFA does is just efforts to recoup any costs but it's likely not changing any plans.

Plans change all the time, almost daily it seems in some instances. How many Star Trek projects are out there that never made it to the screen because something changed. In 1977, they were building sets for Star Trek II on the Paramount Network. Complete with writing scripts and casting actors...

Not worth the trouble, as I said I couldn't recall if you were or not. Tell me you weren't critical of it before the show aired and I will definitely call bullshit on that. I'm not going to engage in this "hey look at me" thread any longer.

I never said that here. Look at my earlier postings before the airing. If I did michael wouldnt michael have given me a warning or a days suspension?

Why would I be upset that people love it? If it brings them joy more power. It just doesn't bring me any and probably never will. Im looking out for myself as well.

I don't think SFA performance will change anything. And I doubt any future Trek projects are going forward at this point.

Best bet is not to watch it then.

When Voyager ended with "Endgame", I was pretty convinced that we would never see those characters on TV again. Whoops.

I just think it is weird for Trek fans to throw in the towel considering how this whole thing started.

This thread title caught my eye when looking through the list of forums. I'm not a fan of SFA and didn't watch the second half of the first season, but Season 2 will air.

At worst, they'll drop all 10 episodes at once. Maybe they might put it on Netflix or something (like Prodigy Season 2). But they won't not air it after all the money they put into it. It's not going to be a Batgirl type of situation.

I've been told too much that the best years of Trek are behind the franchise so I see limited reasons to keep it going so that fans can keep complaining.

I'm at the point of just do the stupid list of "fan wants."
  • Remastered 90s shows
  • 60th anniversary celebration
  • Video games

Fans have always complained about Star Trek, it is like it is a right that comes with fandom. I recommend The Best of Trek books. Some of it is wild.

I've heard "X isn't true Trek" for as long as I've been alive.

I think we have enough content to complain about.

[And there was much rejoicing dot gif]

Ill probably wait to watch it this time. If fan reviews are through the roof ill probably give it a watch. If it's just the same as the first season ill probably not. But on the other hand if im bored when it premieres I might watch right away regardless of reviews. It really depends how im feeling. Im guessing ultimately ill watch it at some point in my life but it might not be as quickly as the first season.

I think SNW is still getting at least a mil viewers per episode.
They'll also be thinking of the future. When 2009 came out, there was a noticable spike in DVD sales for the previous shows.

When they start their hype train for the next reboot, they know people will be checking out the most recent Treks... which will be on P+.
