The problem is that Seven of nine (24 years old in Scorpion) was much Younger than 29 year old Jeri Ryan (in Scorpion).
So does that mean that her nano probes were shit? Seven of Nine looked like was staring down the barrel of 30, while assuring everyone that yes she was barely old enough to drink alcohol.
I had no problem believing Jeri Ryan to be in her mid-20s.
Yeah.. I don't know. Are we to believe that a regular (Earth) child of six growing into a 24 year old is going to age differently than a child of 6 in a maturation chamber for eighteen years? My understanding of the maturation chamber is fuzzy. Don't they sort of grow in there? Isn't there a Borg baby on Voyager somewhere ready to hatch into an ensign?
As someone has mentioned, the maturation chamber accelerates the rate of growth. It would be really inefficient of the Borg not to make their newly-assimilated child drones into fully-productive adult drones as soon as possible.
As for the baby... take your pick of the theories of what happened to her. That's a loose plot thread that was forgotten and never addressed again on the show, although there are numerous fanfics in which someone on the ship adopted her (there's a C/7 story in which Seven and Chakotay adopt her).
A rare exception to this was Picard. Picard was supposed to be in his mid 60's but played by an actor who looked to be in mid 40's.
I think that's being overly generous. Patrick Stewart's portrayal of Sejanus in
I, Claudius was that of a hardened soldier who was promoted to the Captain of the Praetorian Guard, and he had children who were at least 10-12 years old. That would have put Sejanus at the age of at least 30 (if he married young), but more likely closer to 40 as he was definitely older than Livilla (a reasonable assumption, given his grey hair), who had a teenage daughter.
That show was on in the mid-'70s, so I would say Picard would have to be at least in his 50s. And remember his line about attending Spock's wedding? Picard can't be too young so as to make that event implausible.
Cy-Borg? Is that where the name comes from? I can't believe I never realized that.
That's lame.
Or whoever named them might have been a tennis fan (Bjorn Borg).
And that explains the cast of Grease.
And the
Fame TV series in the '80s. It is completely unbelievable that
any of the regular cast playing the kids on that show were really in their teens. There were a few child guest actors who were, of course, played by real children (ie. Leroy's niece, who was in two or three episodes).
And they pretty much had to age the child characters in the
Children of Dune miniseries. In the novel, Leto and Ghanima were only 9 years old. They were Pre-Born, which means they awakened to adult consciousness
in utero, so mentally they were never really children. But there is no way that 9-year-old actors could ever have coped with those roles, and the audience would have been outraged at the idea of 9-year-old Ghanima marrying the 20-something Farad'n Corrino at the end.
