Wilfred-new FX series

highlander

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
So I have been seeing the ads for a while now, and just stumbled into the premiere. And it was hysterical! Seriously weird and twisted but funny. Any one else catch it?

Okay, I watched the encore airin'....made it all the way through the pilot.

So, yeah, now I know I won't be watchin' any more.

I thought it was pretty funny. My biggest concern is where the show goes next week, or next season, or three years from now. My full review is up at my blog.

This US remake will begin airing next week here in Australia so it will be interesting to see how it converts over and if they have made it pure comedy or have kept it as dark as the original was. Good to see Jason Gann still being the dog.

Endymion, the original show only went for two series and they were short as well. Only 8 episodes each.

Like the show will last three years. Elijah Wood has a movie career, too, ya know...

And many movie stars haven't already done TV series lately? :wtf:

Movie stars have done tv shows, but it usually puts their film career on hold. Keifer Sutherland did little more than voicework & cameos while starrin' in 24 and Olivia Wilde's character on House had to be written out completely so she could appear in Tron Legacy and Cowboys & Aliens.

And from what I understand, Elijah Wood is supposed to be a part of the new Tolkien movies Peter Jackson is makin'...

Jono, you don't have to worry about it not being dark, it starts out that way from the opening scene. They would have to work really hard to "brighten" it up after that.;)

I don't know the original, but I liked it, although maybe I'm biased because Frodo is one of my favourite actors. I'm looking forward to where it goes.

Fascinating that people who claimed to have liked Pushing Daisies thinks this show looks like shit. Absolutely fascinating. It's the same damn type of show as that, Wonderfalls, and Dead Like Me. Maybe a bit more deep, in fact.

Anyway, I'm curious to find out why the guy sees the dog like that, especially after finding out why his suicide didn't work.

^Maybe it did work. the entire series could be a coma dream.

"fear is the mindkiller, fear is the little death" - LOL.

I haven't seen anything that suggests that Frodo is going to play a significant part in The Hobbit. Take a look at Jon Hamm's imdb page. He's found plenty of time to pursue other projects while Mad Men has been on the air. I'm sure Wood would be able to quite a bit of other work, even with the grueling work schedule that a show producing 13 twenty-two minute episodes a year must require from him.

And it looks like the ratings were pretty good.
