Why...

Well before the big Activision/Paramount law suits of old from way back in early 2002/3...the trek gaming franchise was full to the brim with modding.....but as time went on and no games came out from 2003, i suppose a lot of the fan base fell away slowly into things that still had a pulse.

Shame really as the modding commuinty for Trek games was just amazing.....from Armada to SFC to Elite force to bridge commander......the modding was just top quailty.

I agree with the comments above - sadly no new games have been around since way back then that were worth modding. Now some people struggle to play the old classics that used to have great mods, like BOTF, KA, Armada.

Heck, the mods on Bridge Commander (such as saucer seperation) are real labours of love and make the game so much more playable - shame the developers never thought about half of it - especially all the different classes of starships like Prometheus, Defiant etc.

You would think that there would be more total conversions out there since there haven't been that many Trek games of late. Case in point, Borderlands 2 would make a great TOS animated game and so on...

Well we got the new ST game launching in 2013.....if its good it might even inginte the gaming franchise again and people will start to mod for Trek once more.

So fingers crossed.
