Why not just make a Pike era show?

Of course, an exact same version of DSC set in 2245 aboard the newly built USS Enterprise and set during a war between the Federation and the Klingons would be..... Axanar. D'oh!

Potentially. But, expectations would remain and those are very difficult to shake.

So, again, no noticeable difference in the expectations/fan rage/canon wars we already have with DSC

Because these producers aren't going to do a series with a White male lead. They specifically wanted a Black female and all the heroes to be minority characters.

A Pike series would never work with the Discovery showrunners.
You say that like there's something wrong with wanting a black female lead.

Just FYI, but when you make an argument playing on your white persecution complex (which you've been told to not to do here before, btw), it's probably best not to post a picture that directly contradicts your point right in the same post. I see three white characters wearing the same medals for heroism as everyone else, and are you really going to argue that Stamets and Tilly weren't treated as heroes on the show too? Also, underneath their makeup, Saru and Ariam are also played by white actors, so you can rest easy that white people still hold the majority of the Discovery crew, because that's important to some people, I guess.

You're on a short leash from your last round of (more) troublesome posts. I've seen that you're capable of making constructive posts around here without delving into white identity politics and sexism (other posts today), yet you're right back into it upon your return. You're free to express your opinions elsewhere, but this is not the appropriate venue. Try and remember that.

You are over exaggerating.

Where in the post that you just quoted does it say that I see "something wrong with wanting a Black female lead?"

You are putting words in my mouth that I didn't say.

Cool story. My post referred to 'minorities as the heroes of STD' That includes women and the homosexual community, so that includes Tilly and Stamets.

Saru may be played by a white male actor, but he does not appear as one onscreen. So it doesn't really count. It isn't really representation.

What I said in the original post is a Pike series wouldn't work because these current producers don't want Straight White Male lead hero on their show.

I never commented whether that was a good or bad thing, just stated the facts for what they are.

FYI; I'm not White, so there's no White persecution complex in play. Also FYI, I thought Black Panther was the best film of the year thus far. Now that's minority empowerment done well.
