Yep. I wasn't involved with them, but there were several back in the day.

As for BBT: With the understanding that the show is under no obligation to present an accurate and/or flattering portrayal of geek culture, the show's big flaw has been the general absence of any female fans (aside from the occasional guest-character). Obsessing over sci-fi has been depicted as a guy thing, with Penny, Bernadette, and Amy all rather bemused by it all.

I'm hoping this new character, Denise, sticks around to remedy that.

Well, to be be fair, they were shown to get into that sort of thing every now and then - see Penny's conan episode or the time all the girls decided to try reading comics and wound up passionately arguing the thor's hammer/worthy debate together. It just hasn't really been developed as much as it could've been. Amy especially takes part in that side of things quite often, but too much it is implied that she's just doing it for Sheldon.

Tank Girl is an unappreciated masterpiece.

Howard the Duck... I dunno. I think it made my godfather blush at the... Lea Thompsons? The female leads bum cheek. I have no other memory of it nor a defense. I was very young when I saw it.
