Why does Daystrom have Kirk's body?

BTW when we did see Daystrom in S1 what was the giant floaty thing nearby just hanging there in the sky?

Can’t be multiple things be called “Daystrom”? In real life famous people’s names are attached to schools, structures and places all of the time.
true, but schools and research institutions and sports fields are a bit different than "secret facility used by nefarious section of the government/starfleet that should nit exist" XD. given the contents, i think calling it "The Menagerie" might be more appropriate...

you don't just have giant floaty things hanging around your local college ? maybe it's the storage facility for all of the evil computers. maybe it's a specific lab. maybe it's just the local town.

I'm sure after Picard went to the trouble of removing Kirk's body from under the metal bridge, carrying it all the way to the highest point he could find, finding some rocks and burying him he will have thought to say 'oh by the way i buried Jim kirk up there can someone pick his body up at some point"
