I would say that you are half right, Data character lacks wisdom, it's absence being one of his attributes.People love Data because he is both innocent and wise.

Very intresting points of views.
The prime reason that Dr. Pulaski was added was because of the McCoy/Spock relationship.
When the writers tried to make a Pulaski/Data relationship it failed.
Data had childlike innocence and when Pulaski was doing what McCoy did to Spock, it just made her look like a jerk.
"Green-blooded hob-goblin" might have worked between Spock and McCoy but "cold hand of machinery" went too far.
Meep moop mop.
I have seen TNG before TOS, that's why I don't mind that she was a Bones copy. Crusher is a pretty flat and boring character in my opinion.Very intresting points of views.

Funny that you bring up Dr. Pulaski...I've been wondering for a while, am I the only one that prefers her over Dr. Crusher? While I admit that I couldn't stand Pulaski at first (I hate change), as time went on I grew to really like her and was sad to see her go...Anyone else feel the same?
Well, I like Data. He's okay and all, but love? I wouldn't say I love him.
Stewart was outstanding, but his supporting cast was weak. Spiner was one of the few actors who seemed to belong on the same set as Stewart.
