Why do most straight women think that Spock is more attractive than Kirk?

I know how to take a joke but I am curious.
What is it about these answers do not make sense to you?
Would it seem to be more 'logical' to you for women to prefer Kirk? Why?
Or do the replies themselves just not make sense?
I havr just been informed this weekend, by a reliable source, that Kirk's hair was parted on the specific side to make him appeal to women. Apparently studies have been done.
Kirk always knew which women were more attractive to the male audience I've always thought! Alot of Spock's flings (minus T'Pring) were a bit like the girl next door!

Which worked in Spock's favor with women viewers because most of them identified with the girl next door. It's the Ginger vs Mary Ann scenario.

Eh. My wife was in love with McCoy from day 1. Not least because she spent her childhood in desperate need of a really good doctor, and they don't grow those around here. Our hometown is the last place bad doctors go before fleeing the state entirely.

I was waiting to read a gay man's opinion (the thread title assumes only women have a preference between the two characters). Thanks for your input.
As a hetero man, I always preferred Spock, too. As a shy person, I suppose I felt more at ease w/ Spock's reserved personality rather than Kirk's casual confidence.

Yeah, Kirk's brashness and bravado are a little OTT (not to mention his wandering eye). Spock's more understated manner would be a far better person to have to live with.

I always liked both Spock and Kirk, their friendship is what drew me to love the show. How well they worked together. And I guess you'd call it like a bromance (?)

I think he is just saying that he views Spock as attractive to women.
A lot of women aren't attracted to men who are seen as players.
Also, I'm as "un-straight" as a three dollar bill, and I find Spock plenty attractive.

Not exactly. I meant that I felt more empathy with Spock than with Kirk, for one of the same reasons that some women find him attractive - his reticence. Some women/men find Spock attractive for other reasons; some don't find him attractive at all.
