WHY are people posting on Thanksgiving Day?

It's Friday where I am and I just got home from work, since it's not a holiday here. I had a reasonably good day at work both today and yesterday, but it does suck being thousands of miles away from my family, friends, etc.

why shouldn't they?

i've spent time posting online on christmas day before.

hell, i've spent time playing video games online on christmas day before.

I've been lurking a lot more than Posting, but once people went home I kind of looked around the board and now at Midnight on Black Friday, feel like posting a few things. Not everyone relies on family or has get togethers so it's whatever the people want.

went to a friends house for thanksgiving.
been watiching tv . napping and cleaning.
but cant sleep so decided to drop by.

:)

me too.

wait I'm Canadian.

I didn't go out until the afternoon and I got home about 8:30, so I had plenty of time to check in; more than on a normal day. :rommie:

Since it's Friday evening here ... and I'm an Australian. We don't do Thanksgiving. But if we did I would probably be at mum's and find time to get online sometime during the evening.

I'm a New Zealander, I don't do Thanksgiving and I don't live in the States. I post whenever I feel like it. Yes, even on Christmas day - which is perfectly fine (we're not all Christians either - there, I said it).

However, from me: all the most appropriate and sincere of Thanksgiving greetings to those that do...

Thanksgiving was TODAY?! Shit.

I know! It being on a Thursday this year really threw me.

:lol::lol::lol:

We’re not the only ones in my family celebrating it today (Friday). My 76yo mother drove into LA to be with my mean-hearted grandmother yesterday, so my sister postponed her Thanksgiving until today, so our Mom could be there. My sister will have our grandmother in her house for any reason, so there was no invitation there.

Doncha just love family? All the warm and fuzzy feelings?

After you eat and football's over there's not much to do except sleep, watch tv or post here. Talking to relatives? We did that at dinner. Afterwards people are too stuffed to care to do much other than lay around.
