Whovian Whumor

Pretty cool, although it would've been better if The Fifth Doctor had his celery and The Eleventh had his fez. [/nitpick]

Here's a couple...

In a special Dr.s episode where someone walks in in distress asking if there is a Doctor in the house....

Dr Who is the only show where if you want to have more space you step inside a police box.

I've been hearing people start to claim "shut up" to be the Twelfth Doctor's catchphrase. Though that video shows it's a common enough phrase among everyone in season 8.

Somehow I have never seen this! How the hell did I miss it?

Anyway, because you can't have one without the other:

Hey, Victorious, not really on topic, but your hilarious avatar of the Addams Family Thing Tardis from "Flatline" made me realize something. the police box in that shot has proportions closer to that of "real" Mark 2 metro' call box. The recessed panels (and thus the windows) are composed of upright rectangles than the "squares" in the more recent props. Plus, it has the taller roof of the Mark 2 boxes.

No, I'm not one of those who suffered an aneurism upon seeing the 2005 box for the first time. But reading the fevered discussions did eventually lead me to "The Mind Robber" web site. That domain presents several articles about the props, miniatures and set pieces and how they evolved over the course of the series, both "classic" and "current". So, for better or worse, I notice the differences now (though they don't detract from my enjoyment of the show).

Sincerely,

Bill

Personally I justify the change in proportions with spacey-whacey-wibbly-wobbly...stuff caused by the Boneless dimension sucking power and the TARDIS technically being able to look like anything. ;)
